JH has been courting with the NFL for a while now, CC Board will be insane if both Michigan and Alabama are open….

Multiple jobs will be open, little fish will move to bigger ponds…chaos will ensue, and I’m here for it!

FIRE UP THE RUMORS!!

Even if it does, they will likely promote from within

I do think he will be in the NFL and will take Minter with him for sure

Yes, but the Alabama job will be filled before the Michigan job opens.

And Michigan will promote Sherrone Moore, so that job won't really be open.

If I'm DeBoer, I wait and either stay at Washington or go to Michigan where he has coached in that part of the world before. I would negotiate slowly with BAMA and try to squeeze money out of Washington to stay. Rumor was he was in line for Seattle position to replace Carroll at one time. I have no idea if that is still a thing or not.

Sherrone Moore would be Michigan's immediate hire.

If so, I like my chances to playoffs better at Washington against Moore at Michigan than at BAMA against SEC in a world i've never coached in before, if I'm DeBoer.

UM doesn’t conduct national searches, it’ll be an in house promotion

That probably sounded funnier in your head.

Used to I never understood the move from college to NFL. Especially after winning a title. I guess the view of the NFL being at the top of the sport is the allure. It certainly isn't the money diff with what they are paying top NCAA coaches.

But now with the NIL and constant portals to deal with the headaches of college HC's have become worse.

I keep hearing pundits say Michigan already has its man if Harbaugh leaves. They will promote the interim coach Moore, who won half there games this year.

This! The advantage in college used to be you could recruit your own staff and players, so ultimately you had more control over your results.

With the portal and NIL, you aren’t guaranteed much when you sign a kid. You have to work year round to not only recruit HS kids, but also re-recruit every player on your roster every year. It’s going to lead to a lot of burnout in college coaches if they don’t fix it fast.
