Was obviously OL coach at LSU for a while, currently BYU’s OC

Thoughts on him? Anyone watched a lot of BYU with him?

ETA: I see he is one of the 5 finalists for the Broyles award this year

Please God No. We didn't want him as an OLine coach. Now we want him back as OC. Hard Fricken Pass

I haven’t watched much BYU but they did put up big numbers. Would certainly solve several problems.

He was supposed to be an amazing recruiter, yet we had numbers shortages while he was here, too. And he’s never been known as a great technical coach. Auburn fans told us that when we hired him and they were pretty spot on. We need a guy who can recruit and coach.

Was just coming to post this! His offense has looked good this year and last year. Up 21-0 to UCF right now.

I wouldn’t mind Grimes... didn’t get all the hate for him at LSU

He has benefited from having one of the Top 5 QB's in the NFL Draft class this year. He would be way down my list.

So did Joe Brady. Along with having three NFL WRs and an NFL RB.

Don’t recall him making a big impact as LSU OL coach.

Guess BYU saw something & he’s done OK there as OC.

Could be fool’s gold if his QB is a pro prospect.

Think I would pass for now.

Yeah he’s obviously not a first choice, I just don’t think he’s an awful coach really

Seriously. Rant logic is incredible. Grimes is only successful because of one talented player, but they'd give an appendage to get Brady back who was successful with the number one overall QB, three first round WRs, a first round RB, and three offensive lineman who started in the NFL as rookies.

Truly fascinating.

His offense has 400 yards in the first half tonight.

I get it’s UCF, but dayum that’s a lot of production.

He was the running game coordinator also. We should have hired Rob Sale (he was LM second choice)

What about the OL coach we had when Saban was here. I think he went to GA or SCe when Saban quit on LSU.

He was a good recruiter and scout of OL. When Gus ran out of OL that Grimes left for him is when the offensive issues started showing up.
