After his ex wife took half his money, I’d say yes he’s ready to come back !

Head coach isn’t always what it seems . Other than having the power to run the program like you want /the mindset , the “ culture?,,.. it’s a lot of NON coaching duties . For guys that really like to coach , watch a lot of film ?. O,c or D.C with a head coach who shares a similar mindset as the coordinator is the best job around for a lot of people.

I am of the opinion that Coach O should only ever be invited back to LSU if it is to celebrate the 2019 team. He should never work for us again. He betrayed us the last time! Honestly, if I were Verge, I would tell Lane that the only constraint that I will put on your coaching hires is that you may not hire Coach O. And on this hill I will die.

Why wouldn’t he? Dude loves LSU and fumbled the greatest opportunity of his life. A motivated Ed O would me be a recruiting menace
I seriously can’t believe any of us think this. Ed O DOES NOT LOVE LSU.. He purposefully and intentionally put himself, his ego, his laziness and his desires ahead of LSU. And then laughed about it. He has no business on an LSU sideline.

The only big surprise recruit that Ed pulled was Chassion, he lost several recruits to the “barber”. Joe Brady hiring was the best thing he ever did.

Would be the perfect fit for Ed. Look at Chip Kelly. Guy didn’t want to deal with the BS and became an OC.
Ed could stick to what he loves, be with one of his best friends, and Ed is royalty at LSU with the GOAT natty season.

What about governor? I want to see that baw in politics.
Given how drunk with power he got as just a football coach, he’d be a terrible politician

Bring back Kyle Williams as the DL coach. Orgeron's best DL coaching days are far behind him, and I don't want O trying to undermine the DC's scheme choice.
I don't know how anyone can want O to be the recruiting coordinator. He is NOT a person to be in charge of, or to organize, anything as important as recruiting. He might have been okay dealing under the table twenty years ago, but the entire paradigm has changed.
There are other far more organized and intelligent people already in the program that are better qualified to be the recruiting coordinator. Orgeron might be a closer; maybe keep him around for his energy, but he's not a coordinator.

Under no circumstances does he return to LSU

I think so too. I just want to see it.

Not claiming that just yet. I was merely responding to the thread title....but yes, Oeaux is in play to be on the staff.....once Lane crosses the finish line.

He should never be allowed to get his hands on any LSU team ever again.

quote:Pride and Ed O have never been seen in the same sentence so I'm guessing he is OK. The big question is whether Kiffin wants to deal with the meddling from a former HC.
Is Ed O really capable of swallowing his pride?
