Within 5 years and we’re doing this all again

ok, at least we’ll get 5 nattys out of him

That means he’s won 2 NC’s by then. Good enough for me.

Let's get a Les Miles that'll stay a dozen years then

If that happens then you know he did really well at LSU so that sounds more positive than negative.

i’d rather endure that conversation every year after a playoff berth than deal with what’s going on right now.
that kind of thing comes with the territory for a 38 year old offensive guru

That is actually one of the best things that could happen because it means he had tangible success

1.You don’t avoid hiring a guy because he could eventually go to the NFL.
2. If he does go that route, it because he’s having success here.
3. Worrying about 5 years down the road is stupid.
4. You can always try offering him more money. The financial situation isn’t static.

Well he would have to succeed to do that....so be it
Stop worrying so much.
Stop worrying so much.

Why is that concerning? If he has enough success in 5 years to garner an offer from the NFL, then I think we'll be fine. It's the nature of the business. Coaches do well and they get rewarded for it. You can't hire coaches based on whether they will stay in place for decades or not. If that was everyones concern, they never would have fired Orgeron, because I can promise you he would never leave and definitely would have never been poached by anyone else because he's garbage.

If that happens, it only bodes well for us.
Believe it or not, you want coaches that are highly sought after. We've grown too accustomed to having individuals who are very much not sought after.

I am concerned about your concern

You should be more worried that he’s not getting offers from the NFL which means you are not having success…

Are you also stressing that a meteor might cause another mass extinction event?

OP needs some vagisil

Damn we don’t even have a coach yet and you’re already worried about him going to the NFL! If it’s lincoln I will enjoy season by season he is here and not worry about three years down the road. My gosh..slo done in life

This scenario exists with all really good coaches.
College is paying $$$ the good now coaches, so the lure is deminished somewhat. NFL and College coaching gigs are totally different...some do not mnake the transition very well, both ways.
