I don't think that is the case. I don't think he's just considering the money. I think the decision is which program sets him up better for sustained great success. He's going to be paid a ton either by LSU or Ole Miss.
But even if the potential for long term success is the primary factor, why not use your position of leverage to generate the most amount of money possible. This is a bidding war that he will probably never be a part of again. He should milk it for all that it is worth.

Don't delude yourself, it's the money first and foremost....not all these challenges and setting himself up for some sort of gridiron glory to be mentioned in the same breath as Saban, Bryant, Royal Leahy or Wilkerson or Woody Hayes

This is always the tell that you are hearing fan fiction.
This is a mercenary squad and very few of them give a shite about the history of the program.
Those that have eligibility remaining won’t hesitate to follow Lane to BR if they are asked and the money is better.
As if the whole team grew up watching Lavalais push Eli’s center on his arse and that stumble has haunted them since they were kids
None of us have any idea what Lane is going to do, but many of the players “not talking to him” is pretty much the one thing we can all agree is bullshite.
