Or so we're told. We don't know any of that for sure, and the media bias towards Orgeron these past couple of months makes me think that this was the plan all along.

Exactly. This narrative of "Joe telling them to frick off" is bullshite.

Joe is a weak, scared loser who was a afraid to go toe-to-toe with UT.

It's over. Let's hope we all care for our families as much as this coaching search. Move on. Join the LSU train.

We won't really know for a while what actually happened but the current optics make Alleva and LSU look like idiots. He had one job to do that affects LSU football, LSU athletics and the entire university for years to come. This is the result?

Remember, Alleva has a track record of not being strong and making the necessary decisions; Duke lacrosse team. He did what was easy, comfortable and convenient for him.

Herman's agent blew it leaking the story nationally. Herman wanted LSU to wait on Texas offer for comparison. Alleva told him LSU was not a consolation prize. With a fired up coach already on campus, Alleva told Herman goodbye. He went with O. Alleva tried. Give him a break

If all of that is true, he should be fired.

Herman wants to coach at Texas PERIOD. Whether it's in 2017 or 2018 this was not part of his plan. Why would I want somebody giving 50% to LSU... I don't know what people don't understand he isn't 100% committed and neither was Fisher...OK I am good with O he motivates...You expect miracles in a half a season...Let him get his staff together, get an OC and let's see his recruiting, spring practices, etc...For once I agree with one guy on ESPN ...Desmond Howard who get's it...It doesn't matter what anybody thinks let the O era begin...

Weren't you the one on a posting streak 2-3 days ago telling anyone who'd listen that Jimbo was going to be the next head coach?

No. Screw Alleva and screw being fair to him. He's had 3 major moments regarding LSU football and he botched both of them. This is the man who shut down Duke Lacrosse once upon a time.

Alleva is a bungler. He bungles things.

If this is Alleva "trying," he should be fired immediately for incompetence and dereliction of duty. What you just typed is an example of "pathetic."

Unreal.

We have been reasonable to him too damn long. Every hire he's made has been absolutely horrible. Not to mention how he gets handled like a little bitch by every other AD in the SEC.

frick Alleva and what he's done to our athletics. He's run almost every program he's touched in to the ground.

He had a chance to change things around, and in 2+ months time to do interviews and find a good coach, he only talked to 2 other coaches and hires a career de line coach for a top 5 job. This is embarrassing and pitiful on all levels.

I am being fair and reasonable when I say this. Alleva should be fired.

He fired a successful coach in mid-season. At the end of the season he engaged only 2 viable candidates and gave up negotiating after less than a week. He then turned the program over to its DL coach. Literally anyone in the position could have provided this result.

It is not reasonable to expect Coach O to win either a national championship or even an SEC championship. It is hoped that he maintain 8 or 9 win seasons. That is what Miles was providing. We all assumed that Miles was fired because those results were not good enough. It is now becoming apparent that Alleva fired Miles for some other reason - perhaps because Alleva thought Miles crossed him (who knows).

This thing is a fiasco. There is no reason to end negotiations now. None. We can settle on Coach O in late December. If Alleva were an attorney and this was a big business deal he would have committed malpractice.

Add to that, King Alexander killed the deal last year over the financial perceptions it would cause. I am sure Alleva was working under the same constraints this year. I don't like Alleva either, but I give him a break here as his hands were tied and I don't like the idea of agents holding us hostage.

Seriously man, what a big fricking bitch he is.

He just put our football program back to the 90s and fired himself.

And one of those rooms he didn't even touch.

The other one he almost cleaned it 100%, but started sweeping stuff under the rug.

I10 corridor. Motherfricker never left i10. Never interviewed up & coming coaches or older experienced coaches. Not an interview. Just Dumbo, uTom, and O.
