If you’re Aranda and have a +$3m offer on table, WHATS TO CONSIDER?

Seriously, same job but for $1.2m more a year. There’s no discussion, except match it LSU. If you can’t, no hard feelings it’s just business. Thanks for the opportunity.
Spare me the money isn’t everything crowd. An extra $1.2m a year for a few years sets up real nicely even more than what you were making before.
Y’all are nuts if you think the man stays with that kind of offer. We re not talking a few hundred thousand of dollars!
A&M just upped the game. You either want to play the new game and participate in this arms race or you don’t.
Sucks but the truth is the powers that be don’t want to play this game and A&M is a HAVE and LSU maybe not so much on that level.

Maybe he doesn't have that offer?

He doesn't have that offer.
He's considering bolting because our program is a clusterfrick of all clusterfricks

It’s not about money it’s about distancing himself from the colossal failure that is Meddlin’ Ed

Then why did he turn down the first offer?

My dignity. $3m is nice but the "you have to be the catcher" initiation at College Station might not be worth it.

A counteroffer by LSU that involves the new title of Head Coach along with a raise that not even a7m could match.

Because he isn't planning on being an coordinator long term. He's probably 1 year off from taking phone calls about either NFL or head coaching gigs. In this case, he has to move his kids out of Dunham, buy a new house and pay LSU 1.5m for basically a year or two. There's more variables than just a 5 hour drive and you get another million.

A&M would pay his buyout dude

3 million might be including his buyout money so it’s a total cost

I get it, but I'll stick with what I'm told by people I trust.

I truly believe it is in his absolute best interest to remain at LSU. He’s only 1 year away from an NFL DC job and rebuilding a D at A&M would likely set him back. The Tiger D is loaded next year and would make him look like a great potential NFL DC.

Could take a huge career hit at a school known for bad defensive play..
They’ve had good coordinators before but not the players

Agree. Offer the majority of us a 65% raise in our current job to go do the same job at another company. I’m out and fast.

Aranda could easily be the HC at LSU in a couple of years, A&M is stuck with Fisher for 10 years.

Better yet why did he leave Wisconsin to work for Les who was already on the hot seat. If the offer is big enough he’s gone

Is he wrong? A system built on hiring elite coordinators is more than likely losing both elite coordinators after year 1. One because of money(which wasn’t supposed to be an issue), and the other because of O meddling in the offense(which he said he wouldn’t do, once again wasn’t supposed to be a problem). So, again, how is this not a clusterfrick?
