What…. I was in total shock and screaming. Who the frick has ever pulled a successful coach of Notre Dame.

Typical of LSU fans.

Kelly is going to be a terrific hire, but big media is going to hate it because he left their beloved Notre Dame (and I am also a fan of Notre Dame). Pieces will start being written and segments will start being shown about how this hire is what is wrong with football real soon by big media. Not from ESPN (SEC connection), but from others.

Someone on the Twitter machine said the last time a HC was hired away from ND was in 1907 by Wisconsin.

It is interesting that USC said when things fell through with Kelly they made the quick pivot and put together the Riley deal.

We thought they were stealing Riley from us at the last minute. Turns out we took Kelly off their board and they got left with ole yellabelly. Nice.

I initially melted but I’ve come around. I never wanted anything to do with Riley and feel like he’s a snake oil salesman who will get exposed. I’m happy with Kelly over Riley. Aranda was always my top pick.

I have sooooo many concerns but they're being drowned out by fan euphoria at the moment

I'm going to wait to see what happens when he takes the helm before passing judgement now that I've had a good melt.

I was happy from the start but I’d say the board was 50-50 when the news came out and now it’s 98-2.

I'll admit my opinion has changed since it broke. I now think it's a great hire. I think my initial reservation was more about my dislike for Notre Dame and Kelly was just a representation of them.
Now that I've dug into his stats and seeing how much this was a shocker to NCAA Football, I'm totally onboard!!

Yes. Once you take away the hate for ND, and take an honest look at the resume and watch a few interviews, it's very apparent he's a damn good coach.

bruh… i was melting because we didn’t get Lincoln.

If I had known we were getting Brian Kelly, I definitely would not have been melting over Lincoln. I’m not sure I would not have preferred him if you make an objective comparison between the two.

[quote to be upset[/quote]

While I can understand wanting someone else, I’ll never understand being upset with the hiring of anyone with his kinda resume. Quite frankly, LSU has never before hired a coach with that type of résumé.

If anyone should be upset, it should be Florida fans. imo

I wanted Aranda or Rhule

This is why I’m not that upset about Kelly. All I’ve heard is that he’s intelligent and a no nonsense kind of guy. That’s some of the reasons I wanted Aranda.
I just knew that was the case with Aranda because I was more familiar with him and his resume than Kelly.
We’ll see if he lives up to his reputation

Yes. The winning percentage graphic from the “king maker to hiring a King” turned my perspective.

I love his energy and I can’t wait to see this team next fall.

My initial thought was we hired Jimbo 2.0 because I didn't know much about him

The more I've learned the more I like him though

I was very disappointed initially because I’m a dumbass. About 15 minutes later after diving a little deeper I felt better about it. A few days in now and I could not be more excited about the future of LSU football.

LOL, we're not unhappy... We got exactly who wanted, who was a near consensus choice among the Gator Nation, in a record amount of time.

Definitely glad y'all got your guy too, should be fun.

Let’s face it. The SEC is a much better product when both LSU and Florida are good.

No doubt about it.
