2003 & 2007 are Saban

Charles McClendon went 135-61-7 at LSU, that's an average of 8-4 in a 12 game season

Jerry Stovall 22-21-2, average of 6-6

Bill Arnsparger 26-8-2, average of 9-3

Mike Archer 27-18-1, average of 7-5

Curley Hallman 16-28, average of 4-8

Gerry DiNardo 32-24-1, average of 7-5

Les Miles 80-28 post-Saban recruits, average of 9-3

Ed Orgeron 51-20, average of 9-3

Brian Kelly 34-14, average of 9-3

Cumulative: 423-222-13, average of 7.86 wins in 12 game season since 1962. Might be time to retire the Texas 8&4 moniker, yikes

No first tier guys are coming.

This is all true. The potential was always there given the built in advantages of being the only meaningful athletic program in a talent rich state. Saban knew that, embraced it, and you see the outcome.

The buffoons hired since then were all incapable of taking full advantage, though Miles was by far the best of the bunch and his 2011 team was very talented independent of Saban.

LSU’s problem now is that those advantages don’t matter much anymore given the portal and NIL. It’s still a top job, but it’s not what it used to be.

LSU wasn't playing 12 games a season until the last couple of decades, you stupid count.

Sure, if you take out LSU's best 15-20 seasons, you cock holster.

Threads like this really make me want Chicken to start administering an IQ test before allowing people to join. LSU is still (and will be for a good while) a top 3-5 job. Jesus

"? Let's just look at the program history from 1965-present excluding Saban(Miles won a championship with Saban's recruits, all 11 starters on D were coached/recruited by him as were the 3 key offensive players Flynn/Hester/Doucet.

So ignoring 2000-2007, which are attributable to Saban,"

Learn to read.

I referenced what that winning percentage correlates to in a 12 game schedule for present day comparison

I excluded exactly 8 seasons, the 5 where Saban was the head coach and the 3 that Miles coached with Saban's players/recruits. Those numbers are LSU in the modern SEC(Ga Tech left 1964, Tulane 1966) without Saban's footprint

There is a thing called the internet. If you conduct a simple search, you will find LSU won a natty in 1958, which falls in the 90 year window.

You didn't answer my question, aside from Saban & 2019, LSU has done jackshit as a program in the last 90 years

This is a weird post. Aside from Darrell Royal and 2005, what has Texas done as a program in the last 90 years?

So by this logic any coach that has transfers shouldn't claim their natty because they didn't sign them out of high school.

Ohio State should claim the 2019 natty and Heisman since they signed Burrow out of high school....

I guess many of you are too young to remember how Saban was hired at LSU. Charlie Weems of Alexandria and a committee of the BOS conducted a national search. While the media was throwing out the brand of the month then, the committee was vetting candidates and making the decision. You don't want one person making the decision. That's what got us in this position to begin with, even going back to CEO. The committee approach is nothing new and has already given us one of the greatest coaches of all time.

They’re scared LSU will get it right. If they don’t know what makes it such an appealing job, they’re stupid.

Because you're a stupid frick.

You have to exclude LSU's best seasons because it's a stupid argument and you're a stupid count.

so why does this video clip have 2 million views in less than 24 hours if not a big deal.

After being happy about getting rid of BK, I regret it now.

Watch who we end up with after this mess.
