Will all the melters eat crow?... Say we beat Miami and Auburn in the first 2 big games of the season next year and the offense looks good. What will all the melters say or do??! My prediction: A) Make excuses picking small statistics such as..." Yeah, we put up 30, but we were only 3 for 8 on 3rd downs"! B) crawl into the weeds and wait for the offense to sputter in a game and pounce on it to say... "I told y'all he was terrible"! I think it's both, but it will be more of "B" than "A". I dont think the majority would say I/we were wrong and eat crow. Just doesn't happen much on an anonymous message board.

Say we lose to Miami and Auburn in the first 2 big games of the season next yar and the offense looks Terrible. What will you say? What will the O/Ensminger pumpers Say or do??!

My Prediction:
A) Make excuses picking small stistics such as..."yeah, our time of possession was great considering how great of Defenses we went against"!
B)crawl into the weeds and wait until the Offensive explosion against powerhouse Defenses like SE La and La Tech and say "we set records", just like last year.

I think its both, but it will be more of B than A
I don't the majority would say I/we were wrong and eat crow. Just doesn't happen much on an anonymous message board.

Well I’m 40 also and 10-2 is the minimum standard!

What do you define as success? If we're going by the standard that we held Les to, then absolutely I will eat crow; but it's not going to happen in a million years

But I have no idea if he will be good. He wasn't my 1st/2nd pick, but I will give him a chance before I say he sucks or is a terrible hire. I don't know....and you don't know either.

this sounds familiar. And I along with many others were proven right.

How about the fact that it has been said by numerous people close to the program that SE doesn't want the job? What about tBinder and O promising everyone he would get the absolute best coordinators? What about it being said by the players themselves they had to separate O and Canada in practice? What kind of HC is that?

If you can simply sit back and play wait and see, then you are glutton for punishment. You do that and the rest of the fanbase will do it's part to make it known that these things shouldn't be accepted.

Once again, look at my post history....I am not this coach "O" or "SE" guy....just willing to give him a chance.

To me, worst case scenario, our recruiting stays in the top 10, and we find a new coach in a year or 2. I do not see us totally collapsing in recruiting.

Hey I love LSU and have since I was 3 but a top 5 program we are not. We do have talent in the state and will continue to put people in the league. But a program littered with a history of having a political agenda and having “too many hands in the cookie jar” does not make for a top 5 program. Face the facts people. Wishful thinking!

so your solution is to just accept it as opposed to try and force change. For once our fanbase seems to be in agreement.

You're lazy.

I wanted Canada to stay....felt like with a good QB, he Offense could have been more successful.

How do you know SE will=mediocrity??

You're insane if you actually see that as the worst case scenario. If I'm a recruit, I'm not going to LSU. This is the first time I've ever felt this way in my entire life.

What most posters dont realize is NO ONE beats bama. It doesn’t matter who the OC is. Maybe one out of 10 times IF you have great coaching and talent.

Ensminger crapped out against Bama. However was very effective using Cam’s offense the rest of the year. Even set LSU offensive records that year.

Yes we lost to Florida and only scored 10. But I was at that game. We moved the ball up and down that field all day. We had fumbles in the red zone, stupid penalties and Guice hit the wrong hole on the last play. Every team has games like that.

Its O’s team. Like it or not its his call to make on assistants. I will support our team no matter what. If we have a good season I will be thrilled. If its a disaster we get a new coach. Not going to act like a 3 year old about something I got no control over.

What is your definition of successful? It’s not 9-3...

A NY day bowl game almost every year and 1 playoff spot every 3 or so.

With Bama in the West and the the greatest coach of all time, I think that is realistic.

Heard on the radio this morning, one guy say Alabama would be ranked in the top 5 if their offense was nothing more than a punter and a field goal kicker.

So, If DA is able to beat teams with the Defense, that will or should have no bearing on one's opinion of the Offense.

I don't. But I can make a reasonable assumption based off of info available that it is not the best hire O could have made. Then I can look back at his promises, and hold him accountable.

Honestly, people like you are the reason we have O, and the reason LSU won't contend for a title for many years. You can't be passive.

How do you post this, and say quit complaining?

We are complaining because we want the Ed O hires to never happen again!

Wow. I'm considerably older than you and am having a very difficult time being OK with LSU sinking back into the abysmal program it was pre-Saban. Do fans on here overreact? Of course. Are there any guarantees to success at that level even with the best of decisions? Unfortunately, not. Is acceptance of complete incompetence from top to bottom a requirement for being a TRUE TIGER FAN? If so, I'll never rise to your level.

Define successful. We going 11-1 with a birth in the CFP or are we just going 9-3 with a competent offense?

I was too, until this year and how he handled the season, rifts between coaches and hiring process. Problem with "find a new coach in a year or 2" is the financial obligation. That was a great thought process before the contracts and ridiculous buyouts came to light last year. LSU didn't want to pony up the $$ for Jimbo/Herman or any other coach and went cheap based off miles huge buyout. They have now went a hell of a lot deeper with new contracts. You think they can make a move in a year and bring in a new staff and top HC???

Miles Buyout
Miles Staff buyout
Orgerons ridiculous buyout
Canada Buyout
Arandas new deal
Ensmingers new deal
Orgerons Staff buyout

Then a NEW HC and Staff??

Moving on from Miles was the right move. But Alleva/Orgeron completely screwed LSU for years. I've always been against firing a coach after 2 years and don't believe LSU can financially do it next year. WIth 2018 schedule looking like a freaking Death Star pointed at LSU, this will get a lot worse before it gets better.

i've come to expect it. there has to be an email distro somewhere that they use to get the message out.
