from Hammond. That guy would love to coach for LSU if the opportunity ever comes up.

This should have zero bearing on whether to hire a particular DC.

Anyone know who the 3rd choice will be?

I've seen this movie before.

Sam Pittman will be DC

All the talk up about Chiz. Does anyone know if he even wants back in coaching. Has a pretty good thing going. Decent money, no stress.

Some media reports have stated that Chizik wants to get back into coaching. I know he expressed interest in Moo State HC position. Also, one of the early articles about our DC search/opening linked Chizik. I think DC at LSU would be a stepping stone for Chizik no doubt, but I also don't think that another school would hire him after a year or two given his rep as a HC unless our defense just went off the charts in his first few years. Somewhat more solid option.

Real coaches are stressed by not coaching. Guarantee you he’s ready to get back into coaching.

That’s why I’m glad TD doesn’t pick coaches. We are too emotional.

Actually, Chizik took his name out of the running like a day after the Moo State job became open.

I think Mike McIntyre would make a good DC candidate.

Its been silent because we are bringing in the D-Coordinator from the Niners after the Super Bowl. Oh and he is bringing Jerry Rice with him as the receivers coach/passing game coordinator. Geaux Tigers

If there was a way to wrestle Leonhard away from Wisky, that'd be the guy imo.

I'd be fine with this but if he came here expect his defensive stat numbers to drop. Much different type of offense here than Wisconsin. Not saying he is a bad coach. Just saying some people will claim he isn't good when his first season is worse than it was at Wisconsin.

While it's likely his stats would drop some in the SEC, Leonhard would still have more talent at his disposal than ever before.

I agree, and I think he would do well here. Just watching people on here want to fire Aranda when he didn't field the same defensive numbers here as he did there tells me they will likely do the same with Leonhard.
