If Napier was locked up this quick by UF…we must have our guy locked in

So either SW has his coach locked up for weeks or SW didn’t even consider Napier and has been burned. I would think SW had his man before cutting CEO. Just waiting out the season. but if that is not the case and let Napier go without any inquiry or offer…..this will not be good for years to come if LSU has to go to second or third tier candidates. Hope I am wrong..

I had the same thought.

I'll be honest though, I can't take much more waiting. This is going to be the longest week ever

Woodward has his man. I don't know who it is but he's already got him.

This is where I am at with it all. Makes too much sense at this point.

It’s the best way to look at it without going too crazy. Especially if Florida knocked out Napier in a week.

At the end of the day we’re going to be pumped about the hire and say it was worth the wait or we’re going to be the top 5 college program that can’t get a top coach and start to question a lot of things.

I think Billy would've killed it here. If we settle for Mark Stoops, that would really hurt the passion for the program.

Gents we need to have faith. Scott has a lot to lose. His legacy hangs with this hire. I believe with all my heart, Scott already had his guy or at least an agreement that he can count on. I’m thankful JA is not here to make the hire. I believe the majority of the fan base is going to be happy.

I completely agree.

The waiting is driving me though

I can see stoops being the hire if we struck out a bunch. If we have our guy already, I would imagine it was one of woodys top couple of candidates.

If firing a coach mid season was an option then I hope there were preliminary discussions with guys before hand to at least get the feel of what kind of interest there was.

No way Napier goes to UF unless he knows he isn't getting the LSU gig.

A whole lot of assumptions right there, but it is the CC board. When I worked at Exxon we had a saying, "If you don't like the rumors you are hearing, start your own".

At this point I am pretty sure we had our guy committed before we fired CEO.
