Matt Campbell would he solid. All their losses were 10 points or less this year. He is a solid coach. Only question is can he handle the pressure and expectations here. He's had none in his career.
There is also the issue of finding support staff.

Yeah just looked, it’s not as good.

Just because you put a name out there, say Lincoln Riley, that doesn't make them an actual candidate. An agent can put any coaching name out there, there's nothing they have to file with the coaching search commission to verify that they're actually interested in the job.
You gather 3 or 4 of these types of mythical candidates , and we "miss" on them when they were never actually candidates, of course you're disappointed if someone like Campbell gets hired.
Realistically, if you look at most hiring rounds for coaches, they're full of candidates that have resumes like Napier or Campbell. We don't see guys from playoff teams switching to another team.

You're saying this like it's what's happening right now.
I get it. Everyone is tired of waiting but the longer this goes on, and almost all you read is speculation, the better it is for LSU.
No coach is going to bail on his current team. Not one. Maybe Petrino but he's not among the coaches on the list.
I still think it's either Riley or Aranda. I don't think it's Jimbo. I just don't. I really can't see Woodward, after all this, going back and hiring a guy he hired at another university 6 years ago. On top of that, you have Jimbo's record since he's been hired to consider. I don't see it. The media sure loves it though.
IF, we get to Campbell, I'd be a little underwhelmed but I wouldn't melt over it. That would happen if we got BoB or Mark Stoops. I'd be furious if they got hired.
Patience grasshopper.

Why don’t you go look up Nick Saban’s record at Michigan State

To me Stoops and Campbell are about even, now BOB no thankyou.

I can see that kinda sorta.
I'd lean towards Campbell though. Just out of those two though. Just my opinion.

Riley, Rhule, Petersen, Aranda, yesSiree, Mr. Birdman, I'd be happy. Agree, hell no to Jimbob (Walton) Fisher and humongous f no to Campbell or M. Stoops.

And unlike others I've read roun here, I'll gladly take Dabo too.

What’s Iowa states record in the 6 years before him?
Previous 5 seasons before him: 20 wins
Last 5 seasons with Campbell: 35 wins

We'll know soon enough griffith but it's been a crazy CCB for sure

No one has said yet what Iowa St is supposed to accomplish or what expectations they have for Iowa St football.

Campbell would he a solid hire. But again, doing it at Iowa St and LSU are completely different things. Iowa St there is generally no pressure. Toledo had no pressure.
Success at one doesn't guarantee it translates. Best way to compare this would be from overseeing Rouses to being the CEO of Kroger.
Yeah, its the same business but its alot frickin bigger and scale.

Campbell was the big 12 coach of the year 3 times since hes been there. People who know what a good coach is know he is very good.

I understand thats a dog shite record, but keep in mind he is the winningest coach at Iowa State in the last 100 years. I Do Believe he will eventually be picked up somewhere he can have more success, but hes building a decent program at ISU

If Scott really is telling people they are going to love it, it isn't going to be Campbell.
Can’t be Napier either. It’s either a whale or Aranda. Dave is the only one of the second tier candidates he could have that much confidence that the guy would be universally loved.

The way he wears a baseball cap makes me think he has roots in Bawcomville.
