If Kiffin left Ole Miss in the middle of a playoff run for Florida it would be hilarious

The comedy value of seeing Ole Miss best season since desegregation to got torpedoed in this way would be unreal. And it would be funny knowing Florida is paying $15 million a year to a coach who is such a bad guy that he could do something like that to his team.
I don’t believe it’s true but if it was HOO BOY that would be an all timer!

Are you under the belief that the entire college football world isn’t laughing at LSU right now?

Sure but that isn’t e really relevant to the OP.
2 programs can be made fun and laughed at at the same time.

Most are laughing because …..
the National Media and College Football Coaches and Agents are laughing.

Maybe.
But what makes this funny is you’ve never won a goddamn single thing of importance in your lifetime and when you get to the best opportunity to do something of note, your coach bolts for a better job.
I don’t care who you are, that’s funny.

Are you under the belief that the entire college football world hasn’t been laughing at Ole Miss since civil war veterans were still walking this earth?

Don’t be such a prisoner of the moment. This would be a huge deal

If Ole Miss gave him an ultimatum, it’s their own fault lol
And who knows. Maybe if they would’ve made a run, maybe he changes his mind

As an Ole Miss fan, nothing has or will change until he has signed a contract. Have you not watched his career? He could change his mind tomorrow and go coach the titans or the giants. Dude is a wildcard.

Oh for sure. This is all just fun on a message board. There is nothing concrete about any of this lol

Kiffin on his way out the door to Florida.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. It would suck, anyone that says differently is lying. Ole Miss is in a decent spot though, our chancellor, AD, NIL, all in a good spot. We can still land on our feet, it will be a semi attractive job but will definitely have to find the right fit.

That would be the only thing that would make him make a decision at this point in the season. Either way, if UF is hiring a coach this Sunday, that's a good thing for LSU's coach search. If it's kiffin then we can move on and lock someone else down.

I don’t think schools see themselves the same as they did just 4 or 5 years ago. Everybody thinks they’re contenders. And I don’t think it even says Florida is an objectively better job than Ole Miss. It would just be a better job for Lane Kiffin and his unique circumstances in 2025. Ole Miss may one day poach Florida’s Coach if he has ties to Oxford/Memphis and the timing is right and he thinks his quality of life would improve. Every human being is different, and every human being prioritizes different things at different part of their lives and careers. And every coach at that level might think they can win anywhere in the current landscape. Money, resources, tradition, etc…are becoming less important with the money and talent spread out so much causing the parity we see today. That will likely get even greater.
The real villains are the conference commissioners and tv execs who’ve set up this system that forces coaches’ and schools’ hands to act sooner than has previously been optimal.

The quintessential WAOM moment!

I’d like to see Kiffin here but if he abandons his team before their season ends to go anywhere that completely changes my mind.

He wouldn’t do it under his will. If he was to leave for Florida, he would want to coach OM in the playoff. Only way that doesn’t happen is if OM doesn’t allow him to, if he agrees to take the Florida job.

It's pretty crazy how confident some on the Florida side are about him being locked up and it will be announced next week. I mean it's not just one or two insiders saying this, it's a good many of them. There is even some talk on the ole miss side that Joe judge will be the interim the rest of the year
