I think he’s going to do everything possible to keep him but I also think he REALLY wants Smith as the RB coach.

Crazy to cater to Louisiana high school coaches like that.

Wilson has been a shitty RB coach from all accounts. All the RBs that originally showed promise have got worse the longer they’ve been here (Jackson, Durham, etc.) we’re kidding ourselves if we don’t think those guys would be great at other school with better running games and coaching

Frank is here because of recruiting, that’s it. If he wants to pout about then we miss out on some Louisiana kids for the next few years who cares

Frank is 52. He’s not trying to retire or be demoted to an off the field role any time soon.

Frank has been here since 2022. What players have we signed from New Orleans because of Frank during that time?

I'm shocked Fletcher Mackel hasn't dropped his name for the Tulane job

He’s too busy trying to get Becky Hammon hired in Nola.

Frank would be Curtis Johnson 2.0 at Tulane

If that happens, then we pull Weis back and Frank can lead the OM offense.

Can anyone justify keeping an assistant who is undermining the head coach? Just curious how we can spin that ?

Without looking back, it’s not a lot. The problem is that pissing off the St Aug/Karr/Warren Easton coaching base will force LSU to have to overpay in NIL to get certain players. Their loyalty is to themselves and has always been. Nothing is bigger than them.

then you can just do what Coach O did with Frank. Go hire one of those high school coaches. If Frank thinks he's too big to replace, you just replace him with one of the people he thinks he controls.

There is no way that Frank Wilson is the only man on earth capable of recruiting New Orleans at a high level.

There’s just no fricking way.

Again, all that seems important but none of it supersedes an assistant undermining your new HC — granted, we don’t know if this is true.

But if it is, then get him TF out.
That’s Orgeron flavored toxic nonsense.

He's realizing he's not going to be the RB coach. NOTHING ABOUT HC.

If only Frank could coach RB’s as good as Johnson coaches receivers.

Just like Orgeron's dream job was LSU, but it was USC before and Ole Miss before that.

What was he supposed to do, not work until he got his dream job

What a dumbass statement

The problem is, there is not a current HS Coach in the NOLA area that carries the relationship clout of a Frank Wilson. He knows his value. Kiffen really needs to find away to keep him. Kiffen referenced the instate talent as a key advantage LSU has. U cannot have someone who doesn’t have relationships with current HS Coaches and families recruiting the area. Texas and USC have guys on their staff for that very reason.

Where is all these silly rumors coming from? I don't think they have any basis at all.

For real. He can recruit and that's it. In the NIL world that doesn't hold as much weight.

It is a hell of a lot easier to recruit when you're winning. Lane and good position coaches matter.
