If Clay Helton beats UCLA this weekend, it's an 8-4 season

also, they will have given Utah their sole regular season loss

finish 7-2 in conference, second in their divison behind Utah

Losses to Oregon, BYU, ND and Washington

True Freshman QB Slovis is putting up monster numbers in Harrell's offense

2018 finished 5-7 so this is a 3 game turnaround.

worth firing or nah?

You mean Franklin?

Imo Urban sits out one more year to see how Herman does next year. I think he wants Texas.

USC doesn’t celebrate 4-loss seasons and Pac-12 second-place division finishes. Their goals are to contend for a national championship. I suspect Helton is gone.

Alabama and Notre Dame in the non conference next season and play Oregon and Washington in conference, so another 8-4 season is a big possibility. If you don't think Helton is the guy now, go ahead and let him go.

I think at this point they have to realize Helton is what he is, a very mediocre coach who may get them some conference wins but will never have the program really in the Playoff hunt. He's fine, but not good enough.

They will can him and shoot high.

The uncertainty behind him is killing recruiting. A literal broom could manage to bring a top 10 class to USC.

Helton is doing a great job! He needs support and patience as he’s building a monster

Why is this still a thing? Franklin is not coming to SC.

Hmmm...why does this sound familiar?

SC has so much more potential than that. They've had top 10 recruiting classes every year since 2014 before the instability with Helton pulled them below this year.

5-7 should have been the last straw, and 8-4 is just more of the mediocrity.

College football is better when SC is good

I miss those primetime ABC games with a packed Coliseum, beautiful sweater girls, and Snoop and Will Ferrell on the sidelines.

Never understood him getting linked to USC and other jobs.

The dude is from Pennsylvania and is the head coach at Penn State. It's a top 20 job at worst in college football.

He's not going anywhere

I tell you who gets a lot of love as far as coaches but is overrated to me ..... Chris Peterson . He always Loses games he shouldn’t and looks like a .500 team in the weak PAC 12

8-4 is nothing special when only one of those wins is against teams with a winning record and that was a fluke Friday night game. The worst USC recruiting class in 20+ years. Keeping Helton would be Bohn just pissing on the ashes of USC football.
