If Brian Kelly was locked up for weeks by LSU, the assistant hires will come fast....

Things will fall into place by Saturday night. Cincinnati and ND will know their playoff fate and the dominoes will fall from there. If CBK doesn't get who he wants from ND's staff, I have to imagine plan B's are line up.

I sure hope you mean except Peetz and not expect Peetz to stay.

I don’t think it’s that easy with the current carousel of jobs. Florida, LSU, USC, ND and Oklahoma all with coaching searches during the same year is pretty insane. It’s hard to say what jobs open for current assistants and who wants to be where. I don’t expect a hire for weeks.

I understand there will be competition, but if Brian Kelly has known for a while he is taking this job, I imagine there's a list of candidates for each position already figured out.

Didn’t Rocket Ismael have a brother they called the jet or missile? I wanna say he went to Syracuse, but I was wrong one time before.

If they make the playoffs do you think any guys on ND staff are going to leave?

Quadry. He wasn't as good as Raghib; but, since Raghib was Rocket, they (sports media) called Quadry "missile."

I mean, that was kind of the point of the timing with both CBK and CEO wasn't it.

Just got to get some of these guys freed up. The majority of the guys we want are coaching for something right now.

I'm not worried about Kelly's assistant hires. He has a long, established history of winning and only has like one or two guys that follow him everywhere; he hires new assistants every year.

We're going to be fine. It's completely different from O.

I don't think we're allowed to mention "sauce" when we are addressing the Chief Cluckster.

Retaining everyone with the exception of Peetz would be a mistake.

First challenge when changing a culture is getting the management (i.e., coaches) inline with the CEO’s direction and processes. Turnover is usually high at this point after the CEO interviews and forces changes. I think LSU is in a situation to be reactive and not proactive at this stage unfortunately. SW I’m sure knows and expected to have attrition or make coordinator and position changes but the head coach can skew targets, especially someone like BK. I’d expect considerable time before BK’s staff is where he’d like it to be. For the purpose of next season, main components will likely stay in place for obvious reasons (e.g., recruiting, roster attrition, team continuity - 2 changes in coordination in 2 years). SW may be letting BK have a little autonomy in the search and offers but I guarantee you SW has a list of desirables and he’s waiting to finesse to BK. IMO and through experience the most direct path to results is to tear it down, reorient, and rebuild, but with coaching it can be a little different.

Also have to wait until after the bowl game to hire & fire.
