I keep hearing James Franklin as the possible leading candidate of Woodward's, but some say he has baggage. Lane Kiffen has baggage too. So what about Mel Tucker or Fickell? Fickell would seem like a more solid hire but he leans USC, LSU could be held up till the very end based on his word alone, then he bolts for USC as Fisher did with Texas A&M.

Aranda's responsible for LSU's greatest season ever in college football, he checks all of the boxes's. Dave's a professional, he's not going to leave LSU hanging as others might. Did Woodward ask Aranda if he's interested, probably?

If Dave Aranda said "I want to be LSU's next head coach", does Woodward say no, for now, I'll get back to you? Aranda's earned our respect, I would hope if he says he wants to be LSU's next head coach, Woodward should oblige him.

Here's a media interview with LSU's possible next head coach LINK

So misleading. He was the defensive coordinator that helped us win it all on a team that was unstoppable on offense. I won't say he wasn't a big part as the defense improved, but the above statement is just extremely misleading.

If someone else wants it to then yes. He isn’t the number one option

Says who? If anything, he leans Cincinnati.

Ok then. I'll say this! Aranda was “largely” responsible for LSU's greatest season ever, mainly because Aranda was not only running LSU's defense but much of LSU's football program. It certainly wasn't O or Brady!

I'm a huge Aranda fan so I'd be pumped if he was our next HC, but I also understand why some fans who expect a bigger name would be a little disappointed.

I'm looking at this from several different angles. If Woodward goes after Fickell and fails at the very end, Aranda might feel disrespected for being our last option, and much of our recruiting this year would be hurt by that. If it's Dave, LSU and our recruits know that they won't be left in limbo.

I highly suspect that Aranda and Ensminger were the glue that kept the team together in 2019. They were the adults on the staff. Aranda leaves, and things start going to shite.

From who? If he is dumb enough to leave Penn State we don’t need him running our program.

Aranda was OK but he wasn’t in the top 3 reasons for the 2019 season.

1. Burrow
2. J Brady
3. NFL talent all over the offense.

He’d be a meh hire.

He’d be another Saban when LSU hired him. That’s all. :)

Until the offense finally came together, Aranda was the main reason for very good years the previous seasons.

I know some don’t want Aranda. However In all fairness, if O dint run Aranda off. He’d be our guy right now.

That kind of puts us in a bind with a lot of coaches if that's the attitude.
