Losing players to the draft is just one aspect of being a head coach that must be accounted and planned for. Looks like Fisher should have found a way to have better back ups and/or found a way to get them some experience before the upperclassmen left. Somehow the GREAT coaches manage to do this.
FSU had a school record 11 players drafted off of the 2012 team.
They rolled to the national championship the next season, so it seems like he already managed to do what you're saying.

Fact: Jumbo Fisher has been in the ACS with top 5 recruiting classes every year and managed to play for a BCS NC the year an Auburn team that got thumped by LSU beat Bama on a missed fg. His team was nearly humiliated by Auburn when every player on his squad went to the NFL.
Fact: he won that game

but he doesn't look to be the brilliant mind needed to beat Saban
you don't need a brilliant offensive mind to beat Saban. You are just an LSU fan who has been forced into this line of thinking. Understandable.
But Jimbo is a brilliant offensive mind. Did you miss Rohan? Booty? 13 current offensive records? Rohan set 6 records under Jimbo as a 1st year starter.
Idk what you want, but it doesn't get much better offensively than what Jimbo brings to the table.

god forbid he doesn't make the CFP every year
name a more accomplished coach that is available and let's discuss. I'm open.
Keep in mind you just mentioned that he had trouble with reloading talent and were proven false. Please do some googling before you start typing in this thread.

What coaches do you think we should be interviewing?

There are some good arguments on here for Fisher. With him I am confident LSU would not regress any further. However, I just don't think he is the best option available. My preference is Herman.

Herman is my #1, but Jimbo is a close second. I wont be upset with either.

Someone else posted attrition as an excuse for the post Winston record. I was simply making a blanket statement about how great coaches plan for these circumstances. I don't need Google to tell your reading comprehension skills are lacking.

Some? Him and Herman are the 2 best available and one can easily argue that Fisher is the best choice long term for LSU for a multitude of reasons.
and this was your argument against Fisher

That's a lot of words. Thankfully I don't need that many to rebutt all of it. Fisher's record without Winston...period. He's a good coach, but I don't think he is a great coach.

You want to go all in on a guy named Jimbo???
j/k thanks for the nice presentation of facts. It's hard to argue against him being a top option.

Les Miles is available, since we are looking at entire bodies of work instead of their stock, currently.

1. Sign Jimbo or Herman (maybe Gary Patterson?)
2. Retain Aranda (Hell, give him an interview as well)
3. Retain O
4. Take Ensminger off play-calling duties (can't think of who would take this on)
Kiffin? Please God NO! And he won't leave a good thing at 'Bama. He could wind up taking over for Saban if he goes to Texas.

In his two years as a head coach he's lost to Connecticut, Navy and SMU.....All unranked. Every argument you've made against Jimbo can be used against Herman, and he's completely unproven.

If Fisher is hired I hope you're right for LSU's sake, but the fact that there's so much debate about who the next coach should be shows he may not be the slam dunk many of you think he is.
I still would prefer Herman first and Fisher second.

Yeah, he was certainly good at LSU but if you recall, people were ready for a change at OC. And the fact crowton came in and the offense seemed better immediately kinda took some luster off Jimbo. I remember Jimbo's LSU offenses being good in 2001 and 2003, and ok in 2005 and 2006. I realize he had no QB in 2002 and 2004. And the stats were always there, but against a defense with a pulse he went extremely conservative. Of course he was working under Saban and Les who tend to be conservative. Actually 2006 is hard to gauge. The offense was explosive against most teams, but fizzled against ole miss, AU, Florida. Then again, AU was dominated by refs and the Florida game was a flukey turnover fest that can't be blamed on a coach.
Keep in mind that in 05-06 he was coaching under Miles, and it is confirmed that Miles was meddling. Especially in that Auburn game in 06.
