Glad you don’t have an ounce of influence. Would not be upset with Rhule.

When has a coach been hired, where the fanbase basically knew a month in advance?

It just doesn't happen that way, and you'd think everyone would've learned their lesson by now. If there's one thing the "Riley guaranteed to LSU!" threads have basically spoken into existence these last couple days, is that it's NOT gonna happen.

Ask yourselves this - when have threads like that ever worked out in a coaching search? When has a fanbase actually known who was being hired a month or so in advance?

Remember when Gruden was a done deal to Tennessee? Or Saban to Texas? Or even Jimbo to LSU the first time? It NEVER happens where these threads and "done deals" come to fruition this far in advance. The LSU faithful are just setting themselves up for a disappointment

When has it ever worked out that way, where there was a "leak" a month in advance that turned out to be true? Every time something like the "Riley to LSU" hype on the board today takes place, it never actually comes to fruition.

Unless you can give me an example as to when a fanbase knew this far in advance, then I'll eat my crow.

I'm not an OU fan, btw. I don't give two shits about Riley staying with the Sooners

Why do people have to take such opposing views? You think Riley can't get it done. The other group thinks he's going to rattle off 5 NCs.

He's a very talented offensive coach. I happen to think the defense is still a question mark at best but if someone wants to say that him being at LSU will shore up that side of the ball I'd hope for that. I think he'd be a 10-2 type of coach here with us in the SEC West race most years. Those games with Bama would go back to being barnburners every year instead of us hoping to beat them once every 4 years.

Most times a coach comes into any situation with high expectations he doesn't meet them. With Riley the bar is just so incredibly high that if he came to LSU and turned out to be a 10-2 coach on average, and in the SEC West race every year here people are going to be disappointed.

Rhule has a better resume than Riley? How many playoff games has Rhule won?

That leads me to believe that he would rather get in a shootout. That will not work in the SEC. Never has, never will.

So let me get this straight. You would rather bring in a coach who has a record barely over .500 and has hardly beaten any ranked teams throughout his career, over a guy who has a better wining % in CFB than anyone else and also produced two heisman winning QBs?
