I don’t think we hire someone till January; and I sincerely hope it’s not Riley

Let me preface this with I don’t think any of you SOB’s know jack squat about anything. And it’s extremely entertaining reading all of the speculation from “sources” that y’all somehow have convinced yourselves to believe.
That being said, I think the reason we don’t announce until then is because none of the coaches we are “going after” will be done until the very end of December/start of January. If you look at this objectively you realize that OU will probably make the playoff, aTm will be playing in a New Years 6 bowl game, and the NFL will not finish its regular season until January. Don’t forget that Woodward kept the baseball hire COMPLETELY under wraps until about 3 days before it was announced.
Riley is not the guy we want to hire. Yes he has been to the playoffs multiple times but he has yet to win a game. He also doesn’t really care about defense. OU recruits extremely well in Texas and has shown the ability to pull in top talent across the south. But their defenses still suck arse against the big boys. That leads me to believe that he would rather get in a shootout. That will not work in the SEC. Never has, never will.
I hope we convince Rhule to come back to CFB. That guy could be special at LSU.
