If Herman says no, I'd think it would be a home run.

Why would Shaw not want the USC gig?

It's not hate, it's the fact that he isn't a viable option. He is coaching for his Alma Mater and won't be in the hot seat as long as he is there.

First, he's not leaving Palo Alto to come to Baton Rouge. Second, he runs the same offense as miles. Third, his offense has been successful because he has had the right QBs to run it. Those QBs grow on trees out on the west coast. Not so much here down south.

Shaw's not going anywhere. He's a Stanford guy.

Hiring Shaw after firing Miles would metaphorically resemble a Les Miles Toss Dive on 3rd and 10

Literally 0% chance of Shaw coming to LSU

Because Shaw is a coherent Les Miles.

I would lose my shite if we get a guy that runs that offense.

The vast majority of LA High Schools run some version of the spread. Almost all of the guys we recruit come from some version of the Read Option or Spread.

Get a guy that runs it and take advantage of our athletes.

His starting QB though isn't from the West Coast.

Of course they have not. That would actually take effort. Right now the erection in their pants guy is Herman who is lighting it up in the American and handed a mediocre OU defense it's arse but has not really played a big name defense yet. And Jimbo who they heard say loves Baton Rouge.

I actually think after the way LSU fired Miles, some coaches may want to back off or have some assurances in terms of contract that a termination must be done at or near season's end

They're going to fire their guy after one season? I doubt it.

I don't think anyone hates Shaw. Most are just hoping for no more single wide out, eleventy tight end sets.

I don't get the love for Shaw

He's the Stanford equivalent of Les Miles but younger.

He is not on the radar and he shouldn't be. A Stanford guy is not the answer.
