But when they come from people who turn right around and argue for ED ORGERON,
It reminds me how fricking bubble-blowing, mercury-drinking stupid some people are. And anything else they say goes out the window.

This is the same program that shafted Spurrier for Mike Archer that had much to do with the fans and players.

There are people who are so blind to their worship of CEO that they're making other shite up about Coach O being committed to keeping the staff in tact.

He hasn't said that because he hasn't been offered the offered the job, and nobody hear knows what the plans of any of the assistants are after the season.

and it's equally stupid to think coaches can't improve over time from their first head coaching gig, the coaching ranks are littered with coaches that failed in their first head coaching job and when they got their second chance excelled...

I've given up hope. It was an exhausting couple of years arguing with the Miles apologists and now this. Whatever happens will happen and if LSU hires O they will get what they deserve.

And FWIW - I actually like him I just don't think he's qualified for this job. Regardless of his record while being the interim coach.

Yeah I'd like him to name 5 coaches since it's littered with them. I love how some posters just post shite with no truth or factual evidence behind their argument.

While I agree with this part of your argument, it makes zero sense to make this the basis of a HC hire. It is a HUGE roll of the dice that a program like ours should not take when there are PROVEN winners out there. When it comes down to it, we need someone that understands the X's and O's aspect from the game. Ed cant develop QBs. We need someone who can do that and Im not convinced any OC worth a damn would come work for Ed.

But this only applies to O apparently.

Herman lost a couple games, he is shite. No way he'd be any better at LSU.

O was awful as an actual HC but he's way better now guys!

I agree that coaches can improve and learn from prior failures, but don't you think O should prove that by running his own program for multiple years before having an opportunity at a top 5 school like LSU?

The only thing he's proven at this point is that he can fire up the players which we all knew. He looked completely lost against bama with wasted timeouts and poor clock management. The only time he's faced a challenge this year he failed again.

O is not qualified for this job and it would be extremely disappointing if LSU did not hire the best possible coach. This screams of Mike Archer and I never thought LSU would go that route again.

You are going on "If" he learned from his mistakes running the football program day-to-day for a long period of time.

There are other coaches who have concrete data showing 1-2 or 4-5 years of being able to get the job done in an exceptional manner.

Orgeron is doing it for 8 weeks. Great job, but that's not enough data to give him the job.

He needs to go take a mid major job and build his own program and run a day to day operation for a couple of years and show for a fact he can run a program and have his own success there. There's a difference in that than taking a team full of 5 stars and whipping up on defenses ranked in the 100s.

Not impressed by that.

He actually had an 11 win season in fricking Cleveland. He wasn't as big a failure as people like to think.

Same with Carroll. Neither touch on the level of badness that O was at Ole Miss.

Here's a hypothetical exercise I'd like everyone to try out:

Imagine that the entire coaching staff is gone. LSU is starting out with only the HC (Jimbo, Herman, Orgeron, who ever). Which coach do you want in that situation?
