I don't think LSU can get the taken grade A talent at major schools: Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Fisher

Herman or Patterson would be the best possible outcome, no prediction but I'm hoping for one or the other.

Dunno if Herman is the answer or not, but that would be a terrible reason to hire him.

Coaches who listen to the fans end up sitting next to them.

I like the Fedora hat. Don't like the Fedora coach though.

Have you been to the Rant recently? Most of our fans are gushing over Orgeron. On the radio show tonight, Gordy mentioned that it doesn't even matter what our remaining record will be - as long as we "look improved", it's most likely going to be Orgeron.

I'd rather retain O and DA and bring in a high profile offensive coordinator personally.

Me, too. Considering Bebe said he learned a few lessons at Ole Miss and USC about head coaching. He said he'd make mistakes but he would also make changes when mistakes were made. He'd also let his coaches coach their positions. Not to mention how he'd have everyone fired up and his players would be willing to play their hearts out for him. I like it.

I really think Orgeron deserves a fair shot I do t think that fair shot should be beat Bama or win the west or some nonsense like that he is coming in a third of the way through the season. If the Tigers play hard and look competent why shouldn't he get the opportunity

Herman

Fisher

Both say no, then O.

Herman ain't saying no though unless Big 12 adds UH.

I've said fedora from day 1.

Fisher- can't help but believe that ship has sailed.

Herman- don't think he wants the pressure. If I'm LSU be careful about a one year wonder. Anybody seen Turner gill lately?

Fedoras a sound coach. Not sure it's an upgrade from miles but it's not a pipe dream like some are.

Anyone but Kiffen. Proven time and again he is no Head Coach. Jimbo or Herman or Oregon if he proves that team is improved. If the games against Ole Miss, Alabama are competitive.

Agreed on stoops, yuck. If O really turns this team around I would be ok with hiring a young-talented offensive coordinator such as applewhite. Would also like a new special teams coach ...

If not Jimbo or Herman, Dan Mullen, Dave Shaw, Brian Kelly, Mark Dantonio.

Jimbo's life is probably hell right now--his exwife also hooked up with an FSU person. It would make sense that he would want to come here, be the king of the states talent instead of competing with uf.

I can't believe people are saying Kiffin. Terrible coach, can't beat Saban, and why would he leave Bama just to be coach O's OC? Petrino is also a no-go.

Dan Mullen is highly underrated for this job, after seeing what he has done with a bunch of 2/3 stars.

We need someone who can beat the freak in Tuscaloosa more than 1 of 10 times. I think Jimbo, Herman, Mullen have the best chance... unless SF turns into an absolute dumpster fire and Chip leaves. I know that wont happen but he is a next-level football genius like Saban, it would be a beautiful thing to see them go at it year after year.

God i hope so, man. I think firing miles and then getting anyone less than a jimbo or herman type will be seen as a loss for LSU, at least at the beginning.

People here keep talking about how saban didn't have a good record and wasn't top choice blah blah blah. The thing is LSU has grown so much since then. Taking a "gamble hire" at this point in LSU's football program would make the entire staff look like fools.

You are probably inferring something I did not say. I am just of the opinion that it is hard to lure a highly successful coach away from a highly successful situation where they are already able to potentially win a NC.

I think Texas is the obvious #1 job in the country. Money, recruiting, easy road to the championship... and they couldn't get Saban out of Alabama. Fisher is the only "maybe" on the list and I doubt he moves after the allegedly close call last year.
