Why do people think this? Where would he go...the NFL? He's been there and doesn't want anymore of that...

The list of reasons people do not like kiffin is always superficial and usually irrelevant when comparing him to other available candidates.

I just do not agree that a man's penchant for hard work and focus is irrelevant to his chances of success. If all great FB coaches have one thing in common, it's that. Maybe his public persona is misleading, but Lane seems undisciplined.

I think he could do better than Riley, honestly. Could being the operative word, less of a sure bet though.

This. I think he would be good, but he wouldn’t last. Also, his recruiting hasn’t been any better than average so far at Ole Miss. Luke was as good or better, which is a bit surprising. That wouldn’t fly here.

Please show us any inkling of evidence on his resume of him sticking around anywhere long term.

I’d rather Mel Tucker than Kiffin.

This is a lazy take, not based in reality.

The evidence in his resume is pretty clear. Whether it was him jumping for any move up the ladder or his own hubris costing him a job, he’s never stayed anywhere very long. Maybe he changes, but there is literally 0 evidence of this right now.

All of the posts that a job like LSU or UF would somehow be different read like a woman thinking her man could be perfect if she could just change a few things about him. We all know how that ends up.

What makes you think he doesn’t work hard. Word around coaches is he’s one of the hardest workers out there. His dad was an old school football coach. He knows exactly what it takes to be succesful.

I just watched him give the stinkeye to a guy for not making a nearly impossible play and down a punt at the one. He's a douche.

I just rewinded and watched again. It doesn't show who Lane was talking to or about what

He actually showed he can hire a DC though. Ole Miss is much improved excluding 2 games. Oklahoma hadn't played defense since about 2003.

Okay, so if he’s a “literal” man child, is he a 46 year old who looks like a kid, or is he a kid who looks like an adult?

Or, and I’m just spitballing here, maybe you don’t know what literal means.

Probably work his way through the tridelts first, then start knocking out the KDs.

In other words Lane is penalized because he's a very good coach. Fans at schools with head coach openings say "Lane would succeed but then he'd leave for the NFL." Those fans have loser mentalities. Hire somebody else after Lane.

The kid killer? I bet he’s a real winner on the recruiting trail.

With the possible exception of Tennessee to USC, Kiffin has made no moves that any other coach wouldn’t make.

And he had a personal connection to USC, so that’s understandable.

So the thought that he just leaves randomly is silly.

In my opinion, Kiffin would be a homerun hire but I don't think some of the higher ups in the LSU political theater like him.

bullshite. There’s a point where you hire him, but he’s not the best coach on the board by a mile. You go for the guys who you think are as good or better and are more likely to stay and build your program, if successful. You don’t take him unless a few people say no first because they are better fits for multiple reasons.

People don't like Kiffin because of his ego, because he's petty, they think he would embarrass LSU, etc., but they worship 'gangsta" Will Wade, who has exhibited all those traits and has LSU waiting on possible major allegations from the NCAA. Go figure.
