If they keep whoever is identifying talent he’ll do well. Both portal & HS.

Tulane could have had Huff...
And Hall is the way they chose.
I was surprised to say the least.
I think its not gonna be great

I think Tulane should savor this playoff appearance as much as possible. Puff out their little chests as much as they can now, because it’s likely back to the bottom they go.

This is about as close to thinking about Tulame as it gets.

Hall was really bad at USM. It wasn't like he was up and down or caught a few bad breaks. Even in the one year Hall took USM to a minor bowl game, the team got blown out at home by a really bad Georgia State squad. His last year, they got blown out 44-7 by Jacksonville State. Who even is that??
What combination of laziness and arrogance led Tulane to do this, I have no idea, but I can assure you that in Will Hall you have a coach who will make Bob Toledo, Buddy Teevens, and Greg Davis look like worthy successors to Vince Lombardi himself in comparison.

What?
Tulane is top 3 in AAC in NIL and salaries.

Our AD is in over his head. It seems as if there was no real plan after Baker turned them down. I would like to know who we actually interviewed. There were a few names that probably should have been interviewed but it appears that they weren't.
The school is trying to push this hire as a way to keep continuity with coaching staff and players.
Fans are bitching because our OC is being replaced but out of either coordinator the OC was the one that needed to be replaced.
Fans complained (myself included) how bad our offense looked all year. The team would be in the redzone and the OC would put in a different (but similar style) qb and it would kill momentum. When we played teams that struggled against the run we would wind up passing more. My favorite game strategy was when he called passing plays while the sun was setting and the wide receivers would lose the ball in the sun.

$1.75b endowment. If they can get any of their academic donors to give to football, they can make some moves. A relative who does academic fundraising for them has told me on multiple occasions they are doing just that.

Actually, you COULD care less, because you obviously cared enough to chime in on how you less you couldn't care.

All you need to know about it is that Tulane released several days worth of damage control posts on FB trying to pump up Halls hire.
Seems like everyone outside of the AD knew that hiring Hall would be bad for the program.
I certainly did my part by commenting negatively on every Hall related Tulane post.
They will be back to the Bob Toldeo era in less than 2 years.

Will Hall bombing at Tulane instantly wouldn’t be the worst outcome honestly
The donors would push Tulane to move on immediately and the AD would be let go. He isn’t the only obstacle, but a major one.
Next cycle won’t have 20 firings and Tulane will be one of the best open jobs. Could get back on track fast with a good hire.
Worst case scenario is gradual decline (6-7 wins) then plateau and crash out. Tulane is too patient and will tolerate this

Not sure if the $ people will be patient. Fritz and the Cotton Bowl proved that you can win at Tulane.

Less fan support. Maybe. The Tulane student body and faculty sure seem to not give many shits about cheering for their athletic programs.
Less resources? Right now Tulane is doing pretty good in that category. As long as Tulane's Administration doesn't kneecap him, Hall will have a much larger program budget to work with than he did at Southern Miss.

Yeah not sure exactly what he means. Tulane is top 3 in our conference in spending....which I am sure is more than USM.

The sentiment around the university is he was the backup option. Not many people are thrilled with how things turned out. I hope he can continue the success of late.

He was the backup after Baker but the feeling is the AD thought that was in the bag.
I don’t think Hall was the second option for the AD cause I don’t think he had one initially.
If so Hall would have been announced the day or two after Baker turned down the offer.

This was not a good hire. I just hope the Tulane AD fires him before he does too much damage and sinks the program into a decade of irrelevance.
