Maybe not. We'll see though. He's only 61 and has had 5 years off to recharge the batteries. He's also been close to the program, so it's not like he'll have to deal with starting fresh somewhere.
They would be foolish not to look at all of their options, but I could easily see Bob getting the bug to coach again over these next few weeks.

I think the first couple of weeks for us was just relief that Orgeron was leaving. After that it was a lot like shopping. The rumor mill would pop up a possible coach, and you'd have your initial reaction (kind of like looking through the window). Then you'd try them on, digging a little deeper into their records to see if they are worth a damn. Then as you were starting to feel comfortable or uncomfortable with the choice, on came the next one. I'm pretty sure we vetted every possible candidate multiple times... well... Except Kelly. He was only considered briefly.

Our last 48 hours or so were the worst. From when LR flatly disclaimed LSU post-Bedlam until the serious CBK rumors hit--those were some pretty desperate times.
I guess it was more like 30 hours, from the LR-to-USCw news until CBK-to-LSU broke.
Whatever, we had folks who legitimately thought SW had moved from Tier 1 into Tier 3, all without finding a suitable candidate. Gators quick firing/hiring didn't help, especially when news broke that Napier didn't get an interview.
But, yeah, the whole process grew more and more frustrating as more schools entered the picture. To paraphrase Trailer Park Boys, we managed to get by on "cigarettes and dope, mustard and bologna, liquor and whores" (and blow).
