It’s nuts for anybody to want him at this point.

Correct. Even allowing this whole charade for months to the detriment of this season is irresponsible at best, active self sabotage at worst.

I definitely wouldn't be shocked if this costs Keith Carter his job.

Doubtful. Today’s statement wasn’t well thought-out, but he’s the best AD we’ve ever had.

Wild that we're talking about the egg bowl like its not lopsided.

I think even w distractions ole miss rolls... that said yea... ole miss looks really weak right now on a lot of levels, but thats the position and leverage theyre in..no other play really

If Kiffin dumps them and comes to us then Ole Miss fans will start jumping off of bridges en masse.

That’s some mighty strong projection.

We’ll move on to the next guy if he leaves.

I think at this point Lane is done at Ole Miss. if he somehow stays this year, they will go through this whole ordeal all over again next year with whatever job opens up. I remember how irritating it was when Saban’s name came up for every open NFL job. It just won’t last if he’s always listening.

Depending on how his contract is written, they might have to pay him a large buyout if they fire him without cause . If he leaves on his own, they are off the hook, and he may even owe them money

He would be owed a buyout but I can't remember how much.

Even then though, he has language in his contract (reportedly) that he has to notify OM if he's speaking with other potential employers, which he apparently has.

What do you fire him for at this point? Unless they have some smoking gun on this whole deal, he's apparently done everything by the book legally speaking.

who's to say OM and Kiffin aren't still trolling and are just stringing it out another week to gain a recruiting edge on one of their permanent rivals and another conference rival right here close to signing day and portal opening, and then announce he's staying right before the Egg Bowl begins.

LSU and UF should move on, hire a new coach, and leave Kiffin hanging in the wind, and OM should drop their offer to $9.1 MM. That would take some wind out of that fat slob Jimmy Sexton's sails, and damage his reputation. It would also help reset coach salaries downward.

I remember when it was considered insane when some coaches started getting contracts over $1 million/yr.

Ya man. They look pathetic right now. I’d be pissed if I was an Ole Miss fan.
You don't think he's capable of doing this exact same thing at LSU in 3-5 years?

If Kiffin is coming to LSU he's stealing everything he can get his hands on and that's a lot

Recruits
Players
Coaches
Staff
NIL Supporters

And more!

You never let a lame duck coach stay if he's going to a competitor
