Thats not 100% Kiffin though. Saban helped as well.

It's a good thing that Lane is open to change. We just got rid of a coach and OC that weren't open to help from others

One QB? Crompton only started one season under Kiffin, and he was senior. Could have been as simple as Crompton having the right experience.

Crompton was AWFUL his first 3 years at UT. In one season with Kiffin he threw for 2800 yards and 27 TDs. He has started 3 different quarterbacks at Alabama, one who hadn't played QB since high school and the other a true freshman. All had great seasons.

No one said Kiffin gets 100% of the credit, but he has run successful offenses and done very well with QBs his entire college coaching career, at Tennessee, USC, and Alabama.

All of this. Anyone that is turning their nose up at Kiffin hasn't been watching the games. His offense this season with Hurts looks nothing like it did last season Coker. And he's doing it with a freshman QB!

I think you think in absolutes. You don't consider any other factors of development in the offense. How about Bama's offensive line? The NFL ranks will tell you how far a good offensive line will take you...just look at the Kansas City Chiefs and they're consistent playoff appearances, or how about this season with Dak Prescott at Dallas? Dallas has the best offensive line in the league, why do you think Ezekiel Elliott was picked to be so productive?

You're fricking stupid if you think Kiffin isn't one of the best OCs in NCAA. What games do you fools watch? Kiffin adjusts his gameplan based on the opponent. I've seen him use pro sets and power then in another game go entirely to spreading teams out and throwing it over the top. He's the guy we need here who has plenty of offensive creativity. He's a piece of a shite but nobody can debate about his OC capability. He's always been a great OC. Crappy HC but very good OC which was the reason he got opportunities in the first place.

For all the predictability LSU had the past 10 years Kiffin is a god send if he comes to LSU. His offensive gameplans are anything but predictable. He's a good recruiter too so that's like an extra icing on top. He covers both of the 50/50 you need in NCAA. You need a great coach and you need a great recruiter. He's both.

I think he's done a pretty good job at Bama and if LSU could get him and didn't that would be a stupidly lazy thing to do as he would be a huge upgrade as OC.

He was never a starter until his senior year. So he was bad in mop up duty? I don't get how you're evaluating his performance.

Under the best offensive lines in college football, with some of the best running backs in college football, one of which won the heisman in fact.

He was 7-6 at Tennessee in his only season there with a senior QB. I don't get how thats awe-inspiring. Its okay, but I'm not seeing how thats a highlight of his career.

At USC he had some of the best QB talent you could ask for. I don't see a Matt Barkley on LSU's roster, and he was a QB for Kiffin's last two seasons.

The thing I like about Kiffin he does a great job at adapting to each qb he coaches. Sometimes he can get a little too pass happy but he does a great job at developing a qb and a gameplan the qb can execute.

I love how his rebuts to anything good Kiffin has done is well because Saban is a god.

Crompton started his for most of the games his junior year as well. Can't remember if he was benched or what circumstances prevented him from playing, but he opened the season as the starter and played the first four games. Then he returned as the starter for the final two games. He was extremely inconsistent that year but he played great under Kiffin.

Did I ever say "Saban is a god" ? Anywhere? Please link the post where I've said this. Thanks.

false. he was benched his junior year after starting the first 4 games. he also started the final 2

if you can't see the progress he made with the tennessee offense, then you're too ignorant to argue with

ok?

so you can provide nothing of Kiffin's deficiencies, yet he's not good because he's had talent to work with. I guess Saban isn't all that great either because he has the best players. And regardless, Kiffin had great QB production with Blake Sims, Jake Coker, and true freshman QB Jalen Hurts. I don't care how great Alabama's OL or running game is, he's done a phenomenal job with three different QBs of three entirely different skill sets, and two of those QBs not even being NFL draft picks, Sims not even sniffing an NFL roster

I think kiffin is a very good OC, but I'm afraid we'll never have the olines he's had at USC and Bama. A dominant oline will make any OC look elite.

Whoa! There is nothing in the quotes you provided or in the article you linked to that says Saban pushed Kiffin. Pure speculation by you.

Just because it says it wasn't Kiffin's signature offense doesn't imply that Saban proposed it and Kiffin agreed; could have been the other way around or a collective process.

My only concern with Kiffin is I don't want a OC for 1 or 2 years if he jumps at a HC gig. I would take a long look at the Canada guy from Pitt.

This whole fiasco was 'a last search effort' from the get go

Why should Kiffin be any different?

I don't think he employs spread principles enough. I don't want a "pro-set" majority offense. LSU should be lining up 3 wide most downs IMO.
Yeah boy, all those NC's at Bama with Kiffin aren't good enough for you, huh?

He works wonders with QB's and adjusts his Offense to their skill sets.

Whoever he thinks can manage the game best, gets the nod and then he tweaks the Offense to best suit their talents.

Hell work wonders with Etling in one Spring and then with Scott or Brennan..............
