If coach O wins every game aside from Bama or plays Bama close or even beats Bama it should have no bearing on the coaching decision.

This is about the next 10-15 years of the program...not a hot streak with a loaded roster when you are favored in every game but 1.

This program needs an injection of energy and completely new identity on offense. HERMAN is the man to provide that. His body of work is impressive and he will continue to evolve as he progresses. He should be the top man.

I don't think it really matters what you do

Is Ann aware she's getting an injection?

I strongly disagree. I want Herman like everybody, but if Coach O wins out impressively, makes the playoff and whatnot, you don't want to frick with that kind of success.

It will be very hard to justify letting O go if we make the playoff.

LSU is not making the playoff. Too many teams will be undefeated. And if we're all completely honest with ourselves, there's absolutely no way we survive the back end of this stretch without at least 1 more loss. Probably two. It would be tough for even Bama to run the remainder of this schedule without a loss or two.

We're talking about 5 straight SEC games where all 5 teams are ranked and 2 are in the top 10. This is uncharted waters boys.

Honestly, I agree.

However, it would be impossible to not give the job to O from an Optics standpoint if he goes undefeated.

But he has to go undefeated, not some of this one loss garbage fans are tossing around.

As long as Herman keeps Aranda, I think Aranda is a better DC than Herman is HC so IMO it's imperative to keep him and even try to keep Raymond and Craig

Man, there are plenty of posters ready to give him the job with 2 losses. They are already building in excuses why this wasnt the year.

But i agree, if O wins out, it's practically impossible not to give him the job. That still doesnt make it the right hire.

I agree, but you have to roll with it at that point.

One loss, he gone.

If he beats alabama convincingly (10+ points) but drops the game to A&M i still think he gets the job.

guess you are conveniently forgetting when Herman beat arranda's defense 59-0 in the big 10 championship

So you want to ignore the guy who just did what Miles couldn't do in many years and give the job to someone who has not won anything at a high level yet? Actually coach O should be a big part of the coaching staff regardless of what happens.

Yes, not being an idiot on the offensive side of the ball shouldn't be the only prerequisite for HC at LSU. How many wins does Coach O have against ranked teams again? What about Herman? Don't bring up not winning anything at a high level if Coach O hasn't done it yet either.

And that is why he would get consideration and probably the job.

Well we can take care of 2 of those. So then you have Michigan, OSU, Clemson, and Washington as the real contenders to finish undefeated. The question is would we get in over those teams with 2 losses

What has coach O won at a high level?

Also, pretty sure they won at a high level last season at Houston. How many "BCS" bowl wins has coach O won?
