What has coach O won at a high level?

"If coach O wins every game aside from Bama or plays Bama close or even beats Bama"
That would be very high level.

How many "BCS" bowl wins has coach O won?

He's only had one win vs a ranked opponent. I just don't understand how people can even consider the man right now.

ETA: The hypotheticals people are throwing around seem more like miracles in my eyes.

pretty sure they won at a high level last season at Houston.
He's beaten 5 ranked opponents in 1 1/2 years with shite recruiting classes (which he's turned around now).

It would be, and he should be considered if he does that. But almost beating Bama doesn't matter. That was Les's specialty.

I'd still make Herman say no first.

May even get us a BCS bowl

even if Coach O won out, he'd have the same amount of wins against ranked opponents as Herman did but with far more talent. Coach O shouldn't even get an interview if Herman wants the job.

But i agree, if O wins out, it's practically impossible not to give him the job. That still doesnt make it the right hire.

I disagree, if he goes undefeated it would prove he has moved past his Ole Miss days. If anyone and I'm pretty sure outside of Saban or Meyer could go undefeated through this stretch with a coaching change and a weather change they would deserve the job. A lot of people are putting a lot of hope in Herman and he may flop big time. I remember when Malzahn was the name to be had, would anyone want him as the LSU coach right now?

With a semi competent offense/head coach there is only one team on our schedule that should even be able to beat us...bama. and we have the horses to beat them at home. MILES cost us 2 wins and it would have been more had he not been canned. He got great talent and bottled it up instead of letting it fly.

Herman will recruit at the same level and he will have an elite offense every year.

You may not want Malzahn right now, but he's more accomplished as a head coach than Orgeron.

LSU can consistently beat bama with Herman. Miles was always the problem and Saban left us with that problem like an a-hole to coach the dolphins.

So you want to ignore the guy who just did what Miles couldn't do in many years and give the job to someone who has not won anything at a high level yet? Actually coach O should be a big part of the coaching staff regardless of what happens.

Exactly, and if you look back I bet this is one of the "Miles has won 10 games every...." guys who called program improvement Nega

I strongly disagree. I want Herman like everybody, but if Coach O wins out impressively, makes the playoff and whatnot, you don't want to frick with that kind of success.

What success? 8 Games? Then what happens we start getting worse and worse every year after that. Same way he did at Ole Miss.

Nah. Herman even if hired may leave in a few years. If O wins out, you can forget about Herman and rightfully so.

Ppl are quick to push the story of Herman supposedly saying he doesnt like the way Texas is not giving Strong a fair deal, yet they see no problem firing O for Herman even if he wins out or does well.

Ok. Herman has won a lot of games at Houston. Many with talent he inherited. And it ain't the SEC.

Agreed

Hermsn with top talent is as good as it gets

Plus LSU can recruit far better defensive coaches here than offensive IMO

And he's willing to adjust his offense even midseason and have tremendous success

He is my #1 easily especially paired with Aranda

Then Fisher
