Herman knows how to scheme against Alabama and maximize the talent he has.

He's very balanced too and does whatever it takes to have success

I want a HC that is either an offensive genius or defensive genius

That way you always have consistency on that side of the ball

Urban and his offenses
Saban and his defenses

Never matters what oc or dc they have.. they tend to just always have great success in their side

And I believe LSU can get top DC with their talent better

Coach O is nice in that he allows his coordinators to coach but what happens when they leave.. it's more iffy to cover like that. Coach O is a tremendous motivator which works with this talent but how much of an x and o's hc is he. I really want LSU to hire a tremendous x and o guy after so many years of Miles.

LSU has so much talent they should or could win out but as others said., if you can get Herman you take it IMO

He Maximizes talent and beats much superior teams with much less talent

I don't care they lost to navy on the road who has an impressive home winning streak. It was still competitive and they had unfortunate events happen and nearly overcame that. They are still Houston and were never truly a top 5 team because of lack of talent. It's just obvious this guy gets the most out of his players. Look what he did versus Wisconsin and Alabama with equal talent

He's still only averaging 1 loss a season .. it's veery difficult for them to go undefeated especially with their talent abe pressure knowing they can't drop any.

He can afford a loss a season at an LSU and still contend and I fully believe he can beat Bama. The very kind that gives Saban fits.

I also think he should come to LSU over Texas because LSU is built to win now. Texas didn't even make a bowl game and their D is still flat out hit garbage. He has far superior D here..

One has nothing to do with the other.

We're looking for a proven coach. The next few games does not out way 3 years of complete suck at ole miss. Maybe it earns him a HC job...but not this one.

I'd prefer Herman, but what I think matters not. I think Jimbo is the #1 candidate they're looking at and I haven't read anything from anyone claiming sources on here that has said different.

I honestly think that the powers that be are all in for Jimbo and all of the Herman stuff is media and message board speculation. I think if we're all in for Jimbo and he says no, then Herman won't be attainable for us anymore if he ever were to begin with.

I'm thinking that the decision makers are thinking Fisher or(God, please no) Orgeron if he proves enough to them.

A little perspective on the Ole Miss job in general:

In the last almost 50 years (since Vaught in the early 70s) there have been only 2 coaches at Ole Miss to have over a .500 SEC record. Cutcliff and now Freeze. Even those two are barely above .500

Cutcliff finished at .521
Freeze is at .514

Orgeron's 3 years at Ole Miss a decade ago have almost zero to do with his performance here now at LSU other than teaching him what not to do.
