o doubt, but he's performed better vs. top 25 teams than Kiffin has. Freeman is 14-5 against top 25 teams. Kiffin is 11-24.
Let's not pretend like Lane's OM teams wouldn't boat race the military academies that ND plays each year that usually are ranked somewhere between #20 and #25.
If you want to compare apples to apples, use top 15 teams. At least those are somewhat comparable and are usually P4 teams.
ETA:
Here are their respective records against top 15 and top 10 teams from 2021 forward. (I removed the COVID year since half the country didn't play and the rankings were all jacked up that year.)
Freeman (2022-2025)
vs. top15: 6-5
vs. top 10: 5-5
Kiffin (2021-2025)
vs. top 15: 8-7
vs. top 10: 4-5
Freeman has not significantly outperformed Lane.

Rumors were rampant about LR and all the inside sources said he was who LSU was pursuing. His name was intentionally leaked, he shut down the rumor and BK, who nobody expected or had info on, was hired the next day. Yea not a smokescreen.
The rumors about LR were such national news that the Oklahoma State band played ‘Callin’ Baton Rouge’ multiple times during their upset win against OU in Bedlam that year.

Freeman has accomplished more than Kiffin in half the time as a head coach, plus hasn't had the major failures Kiffin has had.
I don't really like Kiffin, but what he's done at Ole Miss is much more impressive than what Freeman's done at Notre Dame.
I'd have a lot more confidence in Kiffin being successful at Notre Dame than I would of Freeman being successful at Ole Miss.

Why would Colorado have to 'let go' Deion for Florida to hire him? LMAO

Doing well at OM is much harder
Yes
Plus...
Tennessee
2009 went 7-6 with a bowl loss
USC
2010 went 8-5
2011 went 10-2
2012 went 7-6 with a bowl loss
2013 went 3-2 before being fired
Florida Atlantic
2017 went 11-3 with a bowl win
2018 went 5-7
2019 went 11-3 with a bowl win
Ole Miss
2020 went 5-5 with a bowl win
2021 went 10-3 with a Sugar Bowl loss
2022 went 8-5 with a bowl loss
2023 went 11-2 with a bowl win
2024 went 10-3 with a bowl win
2025 so far is 9-1
Tennessee - 53% win percentage
USC - 65% win percentage
Florida Atlantic - 67% win percentage
Ole Miss - 74% win percentage
He's gotten better with each new stop.
Lane is our man. All in for Kiffin!

His 14 wins came against:
1. BYU (No. 16)
2. Syracuse (No. 16)
3. Clemson (No. 4)
4. South Carolina (No. 19)
5. Duke (No. 17)
6. USC (No. 10)
7. Oregon State (No. 19)
8. Texas A&M (No. 20)
9. Louisville (No. 15)
10. Navy (No. 24)
11. Army (No. 19)
12. Indiana (No. 8)
13. Georgia (No. 2)
14. Penn State (No. 4)
There's only two military academy wins on there. Even taking out some of the other weaker P4 programs (Duke, UNC, BYU, Oregon State, Syracuse) his record is still better than Kiffins.
I realize there are other factors that play into this. Just pointing out that Kiffin has not exactly been stellar against top 25 teams.

Strength of Schedule since Freeman took over at ND:
2022:
25. Ole Miss
33. Notre Dame
2023:
10. Ole Miss
11. Notre Dame
2024:
4. Notre Dame
15. Ole Miss
2025 (so far):
9. Notre Dame
23. Ole Miss

Freeman and Lane arr both very good coaches.

I would assume those SOS include all post-season games (playoffs and bowls).

I tend to think LSU had the deal in place with Kelly for weeks, we allowed Armstrong to use LSU as leverage with USC
the timeline of how quick Kelly was announced after Riley to USC went official speaks to it.

They lost to Northern Illinois last year. Let that sink in. The playoff bracket was incredibly messed up too and Georgia didn't even have their starting QB. They had the luckiest path ever to a NC. Freeman is a pretty good coach but incredibly overrated and SEC eats pretty good coaches alive. Lots of pretty good coaches get the ax 2-3 years in an ultra competitive conference.
They should've been automatically disqualified losing to NI because that's historically bad. The NC game showed you just how undeserving they were to be there. Half the teams in the playoffs had no business being there. Committee was horrible last year favoring undeserving teams and lack of SOS. South Carolina got hosed because they were probably the hottest team second half and deserved a shot.

Lane ain’t coming… a lot of people on here connected(I guess)… I’m not at all and my people knew LSU didn’t have 54 million dollars to pay BK last week..I posted that and was downvoted by people saying I had no idea what I was talking about… people on here supposedly in the know were claiming donors had already came up with the money… I repeated that an one of my friend’s told me no money had been collected or allocated for BK… he turned out to be right in hindsight… this could be false but I heard Landry hesitant to even take donor money for the buyout

Here's another downvote because you don't know what you're talking about and neither does your friend.
