What a stupid arse comment. If dorks like Les Miles and program killers like Ed O can win a national title at LSU, I’m pretty sure Lanning could accomplish that as well here. You act like Oregon has won several national titles over the past 25 years and not LSU. Oregon hasn’t won shite with any coach.

You don't put all your eggs in any basket during a coaching search. That's retarded.
There’s a huge drop off after Kiffin
That's Scott Woodward talking. You can "put all your eggs in one basket", trying to bag the whale who is likely to leave you at the alter at the 11th hour or actually do your research and find the next guy with the hunger, work ethic and plan in place to succeed. I don't expect anyone in LSU's AD to have the discipline and foresight to do that though.
Take a step back, look at Kiffin's overall body of work and tell me if you really think it's worth it to make him the highest paid coach in the country, which is what it would take to make him consider leaving Ole Miss. He's had a good season, is a great offensive mind, but overall he's never won shite. He's the flavor of the month. You don't pay that guy Nick Saban money. You go out and try to find the next NIck Saban. But that takes work, so our AD definitely won't go that route.

Just go find another GOAT awaiting his opportunity
And if they don’t find and hire him they’re being lazy or are incompetent
Got it

I don't know about HC but Oderus Urungus from G'War would have made a fine DC. (I think he died though.)

Why not?
In addition to all the advantages he has with Knight and Oregon, I seem to remember reading that he received or will be receiving 10's of millions in Nike stock.
Not to mention Phil Knight will match or exceed any offer we make.

No different than you. The difference is that I'm under no illusions regarding the search. Plus I think it moronic all the money that we are going to want to pay any of these folks.

I understand that Kiffin is a good coach, but what has he actually accomplished to make him the highest paid coach in college football? I guess that major breakthrough SEC championship could happen this year…. But if he wins it at ole Miss why would he leave? He doesn’t have the pressure over there. I am usually wrong once a day but don’t see that happening.

Hope Kiffin isn’t trolling us. Showing just enough interest to keep us locked in as long as possible potentially hurting our recruiting and portal prospects only to stay at Ole Miss and leave us at the alter with no good options would be 4D chess.

Where is the money to hire a new coach plus his staff coming from? They can't pay BK what he's owed. It will be F Wilson as HC for the next 3 - 5 years.

Is Philly Mike Detillier…lol. Philly takes opinions of everyone and states it nice and pretty as if it is his own. He doesn’t know jack shite.

I understand Chicken has agreed to help pony up to make the package over the top.

Philly, I’m going to need you to be full of shite because I just promised the board this afternoon that if Saban comes back, I’m posting nudes of my wife. That can’t happen ?

LSU allegedly already offered 30 and were shut down by Kelly. The false narrative about settling for 20 million has been proven wrong over and over.
That was before the lawsuit. Funny things happen once depositions start.

There is 0% chance of Dan Lanning being LSU's coach. Not even a 0.0000001% chance.
Did you even bother to read the OP?

I’m hopeful, but this is also exactly what would be said to leverage more money out of Ole Miss.

I wouldn’t consider them sources… but I know two former LSU players that said Lane ain’t coming and other former players don’t want him here… Landry more involved than people think… coach will be someone with Louisiana ties… they told me a week ago LSU didn’t have anyone willing to pay BK 54 million dollars and that’s why SW was fired… plus Baker and most defensive staff will be back regardless of who the coach is

I also know multiple former players and they don’t know any more than the average person does…most of what you said is wrong
Unless the former player is super tight with Ben Bordelon…then I would listen

I look forward to posting this in the future to show you how wrong you’re going to be
Every LSU fan out there you better hope this is 100% false information
None of it jives with things that have been discussed
Frankly, nobody knows whether or not Lane Kiffin is going to choose to leave Oxford or not because the man probably doesn’t know himself at this moment
So give me a break

I am still going to beat this drum. I was told again today LSU was given a number on Nick Saban from Sexton. They didn’t say no.
Again the chances of this happening are very very slim due to age and his pure “want” to coach again but there is a legit offer out there.
Never say Never.
Lane Kiffin is the hottest name currently in the search. I am told from a strong source that it is either Ole Miss or LSU. He will not be leaving for Florida.
The latest I heard (couple days ago) reads as follows
“LSU and Lane both want this to happen but neither want to rush it”
If and this is a big if. IF this is true it would be awesome for LSU but I just have absolutely zero faith in this being true.
