think Les was definitely going to Michigan if 1) it hadn’t leaked that particular morning and cornered Les into addressing g it before the SECCG and 2) we didn’t make the BCSNCG. I’ve always thought Kirk caught too much shite for that because I think he was right at the time. Now, his very reporting fricked it up, so there’s some blame there of you want to throw it at him.

Absofrickinlutley

Caught wind way to early

If Les didn’t hit a 5 game parlay that saturday, he was Michigan bound

Saban to LSU (he has already stated this, calm down bama fans)

frick my life

No, “Some DC called me and told me” being your only justification for the story is still weak af. Every media person tries to spin it as, “it was true at the time.”

A lot of Bama people didn’t like him after the ‘07 season.

Let’s not forget that Herbstreit lobbied for LSU to get into the BCS championship as a 2 loss team in 2007. He was a loud voice on the biggest platform in America. He probably swayed a lot of voters.

It was obvious. SEC Champ or a division loser like UGA or Kansas? SEC Champ or ACC champ they blew out? There was no other real option. I don’t give him any credit at all.

Tenuta's name was coming up a lot when the DC search ended with Malveto.

Saban was prepared to return to LSU before Herbstreit put that out there. He single handedly derailed a potential dynastic run at LSU.

Les won the SEC and NC. Had nothing to do with Kirk.

Those are facts. Pretty well known that Nick and certain BOS had a verbal deal in place Friday night for him to return. If your were in Atlanta at the Marriott Marquis that night you knew as they held an emergency meeting there. By midnight the entire bar knew what was going on. At some point Saturday , Les found out that he didn’t have enough support needed at Michigan and leveraged it against LSU.

Where’s the proof of this?

And Saban was coming home

No he wasn't. This is one if those fantasies drummed up to make themselves feel better. Saban hates Alabama so much he's stayed almost 20 years now. Opened up several businesses, moved his mom down and keeps on winning. Yea, that sounds like someone waiting on the next train out.

He has had MULTIPLE opportunities to leave and hasn't...MANY chances. This is stone cold fact. Quite the contrary. Saban likes Alabama. Miss Terry said it reminds him of west va. His kids basically grew up here. He goes off on a stupid question about not blowing people out and people thinks he hates living here. That's just ignorant. That's HOPING he hates it. Well, he's still here and with all these openings and all these coaches got raises and extensions to keep them. Well, one coach didn't and he's still at Bama.

As far as miles to Michigan, herbstreit was on point with his news. Everybody knows why that went south. The "off field" stuff reared its head at the 11th hour and 2 people on the Michigan board said no way. Michigan told him no, not the other way around. It's why miles was so pissed. I've always thought that info was leaked to Michigan by an LSU insider but who knows.

Again...total bs. We thought he did a great job in 07. That was probably a 4 win team. Never heard one person say they didn't like him. We knew what was coming as soon as he flushed the shite out of the program and we got off sanctions. The stuff people just flat out make up

Tony, you’re one awesome dude. I mean, imagine being a BAMA fan and living on an LSU message board instead of the team you supposedly follow.

Just because you think it’s true , doesn’t make it true either.

People maybe getting a little over their skis on the coming back part, but there was smoke and that’s not always bullshite.

Enjoy him while he’s there. You will be back to having nothing in your life soon

I still hate him for this..

Seriously he is one of the best at what he does, I just wish he would have waited 12 or so more hours to report it..

We can safely assume that DC was Jon Tenuta.

More likely his former college teamate and then LSU DC Bo Pelini.

That day was the day I turned into a Miles fan, but only briefly. I was back on the “I can’t stand the sob” the following year. But for about a month I liked Les.

In retrospect I wish he carried his arse then. I truly think that was when he really started getting extra weird. Almost as though he wanted us to lose.
