The sources he referring to or about are a large contingent of high school coaches, former players, and football people from around the state… a lot of people don’t view Lane in the context the ones fawning over him do

We've come off like the desperate girlfriend in all this willing to give him whatever he wants even if it hurts us. Which is why you don't want a brand new inexperienced AD making this hire. They get played much easier.

Will you shut up? You don’t know about a single discussion between lsu and any coach.

Kiffin is coming, Nepo dandy knows jack shite…but go ahead and send him a donation

Nothing is certain until a deal is signed. Lane may well come to LSU but he has 2 other good options. To believe he might not choose Ole Miss or Florida is naive

Yeah because verge totally hasn’t been around the block when it comes to this stuff. New role but he’s been in the system a while.

I remember what it was like to be young and know everything.
So much better when you get older, recognize that you don’t know it all and let all that responsibility go.

Being involved in a search with other people making the big decisions is not the same as making them yourself. Honestly if Woodward was running this search, he probably wouldn't even have looked at Kiffin seriously because of the circus that's playing out right now.

I knew as soon as the AD put out that statement with the way it was worded that they were going to keep negotiating and ultimately end up keeping him.

Really? Interesting, I took it as he was absolutely leaving with the whole “there will be an announcement after the Egg bowl” if he was staying why not announce it ASAP to eliminate any distractions?

You do realize… this coaches search is on pace to be faster resolved in number of days than the previous 3 right???

What circus? A couple of teams have offered him the job, and he's waiting to make a decision until the end of the season.

Lane used us (and UF) to get a massive pay raise. That’s it. It sucks but hope we have a solid guy lined up

Which is why that inexperienced AD consulted with Saban. You don’t think they vetted this out before presenting an offer?

only so he knew he could come back IF NEEDED(which he wanted to do) and easily replace him knowing he was mediocre.

this has been explained ad infinitum.

This is how you know it is done...TheLSU folks have been given instructions to zip it and nobody is talking.....

However, I must say I am tired of the drama and I am just ready for something to be done...last night's disaster in the stadium kind of stuck a fork in me. I am ready for baseball.
