So awesome

I know their fans and players were tired of being in the national title hunt every year and were relieved Kelly left so hopefully this works out well for them

When the players beg administration to hire a coach and they do, it usually works out well

Yeah they gotta remember it was Kelly who built that culture, just thought it was a pretty cool vid.

Yep. I don’t see that ending well.

It was Kelly who brought Freeman to Notre Dame

I think ND fell into “let’s make a hire and save our PR in the short term”. Which Freeman might turn out to be a great coach but it’s a big risk. ND is in a position where they don’t have to take big risks. They could have waited on Fickell. We all saw how hiring young/energetic coordinators with no experience worked out and that can definitely happen with a head coach who’s never been a head coach before.

Damn.
If they ge the chance they just might win it all with that emotion and togetherness.

Risky move, but with a lot more potential upside than guys like Campbell or maybe even Fickell

Freeman is a helluva recruiter

Reminds me of the video of the West Va players reacting to the news that Bill Stewart was named HC after Rich Rod dumped them. They fell back to earth very quickly. I see the same thing happening here.

That would only last through the first 5-10 minutes of the game, then reality would sink in.

A lot more downside too. Campbell and Fickell have both proven they can successfully lead programs. Freeman has only shown that he can lead a defense. Huge risk here on such a big stage.

It NOT working out so well

Actually he has only proven he can lead a defense coached by Fickell.

Notre Dame was set up for success before he arrived.

I’ll say this though, this dude can recruit.

Freeman is just a tad better recruiter. Just a tad.

That said, he could flop

That was obvious sarcasm...Dude is extra salty that Freeman didn't go to LSU.

I have to be honest, I found it pretty disappointing how the LSU team gave no welcome whatsoever when Brian Kelly walked in the room to introduce himself
