I wish I was king and could hire this dude to be LSU's HC today.

I wonder if Texas tried to get him. Seems like a mistake if they didn't.

Orgeron lost to Troy . . . at LSU.

He turned a perpetually awful program into a Fiesta Bowl winner. They were within a play of winning the Big 12 for the first time in program history. He turned down a job offer from Belichick to become the HC at Iowa State. It amazes me people can't see real talent when it's staring them right in the face.

And Saban lost to UAB at LSU and UL-Monroe at Alabama. I'm with you, Matt Campbell is a solid head coach. It's a shame, both for Texas and for Alabama, that the Longhorns hired Sarkisian over him.

ULL would beat LSU this year, so I wouldn’t get to critical of ISU

I believe that he’s recently on record as saying he’ll never coach at Texas under any circumstances.

I’ve never heard this one before. I know that he turned down the opportunity to interview with the Patriots front office after the 2003 season, but I’ve never heard anything about him being offered a coaching position by Belichick while he was coach at Toledo.

He was my pick over Norvell but honestly he seems like the exact same person. He says all the right things in the cool adapted coach tone but he has just put together a peak at a crap program with a bunch of 2 stars who somehow worked out, dump him into the nest of real win an NC now culture and I'm not sure.

And just beat the Pac Champion

IF you have an opening at HC, you'd be stupid not to kick the tires on MC. Hell, I'd take him at UF today.

Kind of agree. Does he have the heart to cheat on the recruiting circuit and cut shady deals?

That's what it's going to take to win the SEC West, or pretty much to get a team into the 4 game playoff.

Let me rephrase then: he lost to ULL during his BEST season as a HC.

Maybe MC wants no part of that Texass cesspool & is perfectly happy to stay at ISU where he could comfortably coach forever (i. e. Kirk Ferenz at Iowa).
