And won big games. He beat a top 10 FSU in a bowl game and a top 10 Oklahoma.
We will never win anything if we can't win big games.
Did anyone watch O during the Arkansas game? He doesn't do anything besides stand there looking like he has heartburn.

What do these things have to do with each other...other than what seems to be your assumption that not liking Orgeron seems to be some flaw that would result in someone automatically having a short leash for a new coach?

I am not a "no to O" guy but I am concerned. I believe that Coach O is a player's coach and can motivate the team. We all know that he can recruit which is one of the most important aspects of the job...but from my point of view and from the perspective of some upper level boosters and LSU leaders, the question remains: "Can he run a multi-million dollar company?"

Did Alleva say Coach O would get fair consideration for the job? If so, and O wins out, he's basically painted himself into a corner to hire him.

LSU's head coach, whom ever that is, has to be able to recruit and keep Louisiana talent at home, PERIOD.
That alone is the foundation that Saban started and Miles continued. The formula has worked for the most part. Now we simply need a head coach that has great coordinators in place and to get out of their way. Well, the DC is already here and I'm sure Coach O will find an OC / QB coach to provide the level of success the D has had.
Have a true love for LSU (check), recruit (check), put people in positions to shore up weak spots (check), etc.....

What makes you think he is gone is a year, treat him right $$ and see what happens. Not everyone wants to be a head coach. I surely don't know his desires, but you probably don't either.
A Fisher or Herman will cost us tons of money and probably won't win a championship either.
And after 2 or 3 short years, you will be clamoring for his head and complaining that we didn't hire the other one, just like the QB position.

He will always be coordinator dependent, and coordinator turnover is high. That creates a lot of volatility, and results will not be steady.
I think he is a solid last resort, but I would prefer a coach who can own the offense or the defense, so that play from one side of the ball remains steady.

I said wins out. Meaning the rest of the games. Losing to the best team in college football the way we did isn't going to cost him the job. Win the rest and the bowl game and Alleva looks like a total dick if he doesn't at least offer him the job. And we all know that Alleva doesn't want to look like a dick again.

I'm fine with those.
We lose to bama, one of UF/Auburn and maybe a non big six sec school when they are having a great year.
Its the way we lose that matters.
We play good games and lose because of a turnover or two or because the other team makes a great play then so be it.
I can't take losing games because the offense doesn't adapt or because of clock blunders
