How many losses will you spot the new coach before you are ready to fire him?

Textbook example of a kid wandering into an adult conversation and trying to contribute.

This board is crazy.

"Don't give me Jimbo. He lost by 50 this year. "

"Dude, Herman is so overrated. They didn't go undefeated with their cupcake schedule."

"O?! Are you fricking stupid?!"

You're not going to find the perfect coach. There is no other Nick Saban. There is no other Urban Meyer. Every coach has faults.

Yes there is. There are talented coaches out there. Just need to find the right one.

Nick Saban wasnt always this Nick Saban. The next Nick saban could very well be out there. I know one person who is not the next Nick Saban.

since this is tell the truth Monday, the no to O crowd is hung up on hiring a name brand coach and nothing else will make them happy.

some of them are 100% sold on the spread only offense and want the tejas tech offense and will only be happy if we hire Herman or someone like Briles. others are OK with a pro style with spread elements but it HAS to be a name brand (like Jimbo). others assume a Cajun isn't qualified and feel his failure 10 years ago means he will always fail. lastly, I know some that feel hiring coach O would be an "embarrassment" due to his accent.

but I can say the players and the other coaches are NOT in the no O crowd.

Some less than others.
Top 5 program deserves top 5 head coach.

Maybe. Maybe not. There is def a coach out there who could take over as the best HC in CFB once Saban retires though.

I find it hard to fathom wanting to hire a HC based on if his D coordinator will stay or not. Aranda will be here 1 more season if we are lucky.

Neither Herman, nor Briles run a "Texas Tech" offense...in fact both run offenses that are predicated first and foremost on the power run out of the spread.

You mean to tell me, fans want a HC that has won a NC as a HC and a proven track record of developing QBs?

God forbid anyone take into account O's actual experience as a HC where he had to actually run a program and attempt to build it, not focus solely on his time taking over a team in the midseason until a new HC is hired.

That's dumb.

You have no idea what the players and other coaches think.
