Only knock on House is recruiting isn't something he's very good at.

Overall much prefer House to White.

No. No they weren’t. They were saying it wasn’t an “exciting hire” but they weren’t “shitting in him”. You might know the difference if you took long enough to get the taste of Orgerons dick out of your mouth long enough to actually read what people were saying.

I don’t need the dc to be a stud recruiter. He needs to be a good coach and hire other recruiters. Sort of the Aranda model

Most of Kelly’s DC’s have been strong recruiters. Freeman, Lea, Diaco, even Brian Van Gorder. Elko is the exception.

Appreciate the input.

As stated above...i prefer my Coordinators to be Xs and Os guys first and foremost. Recruiters second.

Exactly and I thought part of Kelly's evolution as a head coach was to get coaches who he could rely on to recruit lights out.

Staffs have to be a mix, but for the coordinators specifically I agree- X&O's guys for the 2 coordinator spots.

Begs the question of do we now scrap the area recruiter thing for the most part. You can let coaches who specialize in an area (Frank obviously) keep doing it, but for the rest of 'em go back to straight assignments.

House might be too good of a DC to pass on though.

We know Frank will recruit as good as anyone in America. Cooks is a good recruiter. Polian is very good. Carter, if he stays, appears to be strong as well.

Denbrock is a very tactical and informative coach. In THE SEASON on showtime...you see alot of him talking to the team going in depth in team meetings and giving great motivational talks during games. He is the players coach for Kelly. Plus it is Kellys offense and this is a guy he trusts to lean on

Schemes are important, but there is an art to play calling. When you call plays…and in what sequence is as important as the play itself. Some just have the touch. Others do not.

Ensminger was a good play caller. Peetz was not.

It will be Kelly’s offense. As long as Kelly has been around Denbrock over the years, I can’t believe he won’t be a really good play caller.

I really don’t get the hate for Denbrock on this site. He has had some very good offenses at Cincy. I think its a really solid hire. He and Kelly are going to mold the offense around the players. This isn’t a square peg round hole situation.

There are 10 assistant coaches. You don’t need all 10 to be recruiting wizards.

And let’s not forget, we are in a new era of recruiting. With NIL recruiting won’t be the same…if the paychecks are big enough then it may not even matter how good one can recruit.
