Rather him be a disaster in Eugene than in South Bend.

If it were one more year later, I think Scott Frost at UCF would be seriously in the mix. Coached at Oregon for many years and turned UCF from 0 wins to bowl eligible in a year.

He could still be in the running though if Oregon can't snag a big name.

'd prefer him at a school we can get him from easily in 3 years

And a school where I can root for him. Not fricking Oregon

Brian Kelly would be a disaster hire for Oregon

I don't agree with this.

I think Oregon can do better, but Brian Kelly was a damned good coach. A new environment away from the stogy ND culture might do him some good.

ND needs to hire Les Miles, perfect fit for each other. It is disturbing to me if Oregon lands Fleck, seems some colleges did some research.

hopefully oregon hires fleck. i want to see how he does at a bigger program. if he's successful, then lsu can easily poach him in a few years.

I love hearing that...yet we ended up with O as head coach.

We're not easily poaching a coach from Oregon.

This doesn't make sense. The only reason you'd want Fleck is because he's winning big and winning big at Oregon is competing for an NC.

Oregon and Fleck are a match made in heaven.

I agree that I think BK is a good coach, but Fleck and Oregon seem like such a good fit, that it's hard to imagine them passing on him. Crazier things have happened, though.

Not with Alleva as AD. He always goes cheap and is scared of bidding war. He might promote Ensminger as hc next time with a killer binder.

The coaching search seems to be:

1) Chip
2) Fleck
3a) Kiffen
3b) Harsin

with Taggart on the outside looking in.

Chip was entertaining the idea but doesn't want to recruit. Fleck seems to be the top choice but Kiffen is giving him a run for his money.

Brian Kelly's trip to Eugene was a photoshop on a Reddit thread.

Not a bad list.

BTW, what is your go-to Oregon athletics message board?

See, you are going about this all search all wrong. The first question you need to ask yourself is, is he one of us? You cant let little things stop you, like being qualified for the job and you certainly can't wonder "hmmm, why hasnt he been a HC anywhere else in over 10 years?" No no, the important thing is to make sure that he is from the state of Oregon.

LSU had their chance and Joe Alleva went the lazy hire instead. If he goes to Oregon, that's it, you are not pulling him to go to LSU.
