On the Russillo pod, didn't give specifics other than he talked to someone at another school who kicked the tires on hiring Lanning and the buyout was going to be a lot more than $20 mil. Also noted in his contract that the buyout if he were to leave for Alabama would be different than any other school. Maybe it's that and some kind of deal with Nike?

Oregon tried to prevent another bailing coach. But I feel like if Alabama wants this, they will have it.

I'm guessing A&M.

Tim Watts made a post last night saying Kiffin, Sark, and Lanning are all unlikely.

Stupid post, of course Sark isn't coming, neither is Kirby. They'd have to miss on a lot of candidates to get down to Kiffin, he's too immature and got fired by Saban right before the natty.

Oregon isn't a destination job. Why, who knows but there is a reason they can't keep a coach not named Bellotti.

Maybe. But the choices are not great. I just can’t see anyone at Bama settling for someone like Norvell. And I think they will try to do whatever it takes.

But you could be right.

I don’t know if there’s a stipulation for the Bama job in Kiffin’s contract but if he takes another SEC job the buyout is $20 million for him as well

20 million is not a problem.

Lannings buyout might be because it’s “considerably more” than 20 million. We will see.

I don’t think Kiffin has a chance in hell for other reasons though.

The rumor is that in addition to the $20MM buyout in his contract, he also has $30MM in Nike stock that he only gets when he completes his contract. So Bama would have to come up with something in the $50MM range.

If Bama wanted Lane, they'd pay that in second. They have big boy money and big boy desperation.

I think bama goes with a proven coach. It’s going to be Dabo. The melts will be glorious. Dabo will wreck the program right into the ground.

I don't even remember this but it was referenced on the radio this morning. What was that about?

I don't see why Sark would leave.

I don't think Lanning should leave either.
