Fair question about CEO. What's on his resume that qualify him as coach at LSU.

I can't find anything. Think about it and give us your best evidence.

Literally the only thing right now is he's from here and he's keeping the wheels from totally falling off. There is nothing there that says he should be given the keys full time. He's a great recruiter and position coach. He'd probably be great at a place like ULL. LSU should be dreaming much bigger than him at this point.

If Les would have been fired last November, he wouldn't have been a top 20 candidate for the job.

He beat a good Stanford team
End of achievements
Same crowd who thinks Chad Morris is "turning it around" at SMu because they beat Houston.
1 game doesn't make you a good coach. Look at the body of work.

Crickets in here from the pro O people because they know, deep down, the responses thus far are the only reasons they love him.

The biggest argument I'm hearing is that he can recruit and that he "fits" the fans and the program.
They want so desperately to have him be the guy and they want to give him elite DCs and OCs and let him do nothing but talk to recruits.
I honestly believe that people would be OK with the OC and DC making more money than him, but just keeping "Head Coach" by his name.
It's like he's hit Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno status with some people in just four games.

Morris at least has record as a great OC and a background like Freeze and Gus a record as an innovator and winner in HS. Clearly he needs to show more a HC and needs a couple of years to do more than 1 big upset before being considered for a better job let alone a top 5 job like LSU.

Recruiting
Come on man. Give me something else. There are hundreds of great recruiters in college football. Why is the man qualified to be the head coach of a top 5 program in the country? The correct answer is: He isn't.

It's tough to say that recruiting is being overvalued, but in this case it is. At programs the caliber of LSU, you don't make a HC based primarily because he can recruit. That's just backwards thinking.
If a HC can recruit his butt off but he cannot contribute to game strategy then that doesn't make him a good HC. It means he has one quality that good HCs have. We need the other stuff too.

Even 90 year old Paterno sitting in the press box with a broken hip would have managed the game better than O did on Saturday.

We already have a basketball example of this anyway.

First thing is the other candidates. Jimbo is 10-6 in his last 16 games. Herminator is 2-2 in his last four games.
CEO has four national championship rings.
He was hired by and worked under two coaches that not only won college national championships but also super bowls.
He is known as a very good recruiter.
In his last two HC gigs he is 9-3. That is in the Pac-12 and SEC. Not some shite conference like the American.
