My niece lives in Worthington area of Columbus and is friends with Nicki, his daughter. According to niece, who is in Junior league or something with her, Nicki and Shelley abruptly went down to Alabama this weekend to look for houses. Surprised me bc I thought Urban still lived in Jacksonville and he’s an Ohio native. Anyway, this was way out of left field but here we are.

His “heart problems” would not allow him to coach against Alabama, Georgia AND LSU every season

Ah - the old "coach's wife looking at houses" rumor. We have hit peak silly season.

How this works,

-OP turns out to be right, becomes a legend
-6 years from now he gives some scoop on some coaching job, turns out to be completely false. Everyone takes him at his word citing the Meyer to Auburn scoop.
-is burned at the stake

After Texas fired Hermann, you should’ve seen all the reports of urban and his wife in the Austin area.

I joined Horns 24/7 just for the gold. One dude swore he worked at Horseshoe Bay golf course and the Meyers were looking at homes

“My cousin is a real estate agent in ____________ and they told me that ___________’s wife has contacted their broker interested in houses.”

A similar thing happens every year during NFL free agency and off season

Meyer is such a unique candidate. You could make the argument that he is second only to Saban in terms of success over the last 20 years. However, he "burned out" of two championship level programs during that time period and is just coming off a one year stint as a NFL HC where his players seemed to hate him from almost day one.

While success is never guaranteed, if past results are the best indicator of future success is there a better bet than Meyer potentially available?

Auburn took a risk on "damaged goods" when they hired Bruce Pearl fresh off a show cause penalty. That risk has paid off greatly. Would they try to take the same approach again? They already got rid of the one HC who had them intermittently competing for National Championships and their attempt at the "mid-major star" was a disaster. If Meyer is interested (and there is no reason to think he is) is he worth the gamble?

So I think the entire OP is Bull, but how funny would it be to be some big time coach candidate and have you’re wife just fly to these towns and pretend to look at houses just to frick with fanbases and message boards?
