Tell me, is it nice to be blissfully ignorant? You completely missed the point.

I am looking forward to Coach keeping the LA talent in LA. And the guy would have killed to get the job. Glad he got it.

Okay??

But why not actually conduct an end of season coaching search??

Tell me again which other SEC school wants to hire O as HC?

I don't think Herman will have the success he would have at LSU

I STILL want him with our program

But people will all say I told you so once Texas continues to fail

Yay, we settled! That's really the only way to look at this. I hope Coach O the best obviously but we didn't even really try to get who we wanted. And that's the bottom line.

Herman's agent was playing LSU against Texas, and Herman's preference was Texas. That was said a few weeks ago. If LSU wanted to pay him, great, but all Texas had to do was match it and Herman was at Texas.

I, for one, am glad Alleva didn't allow LSU to be used to barter a better deal for Herman at Texas.

Herman won at UH with inherited talent and Greg Ward is gone this year. I bet Herman will fail at Texas.

Agreed. If you believe LSU is a top program, which it is, you can't allow coaches or agents to use it as a bargaining chip especially against UT in it's current state. Chances are at worst UT let's us have him a couple of years and then throws the moon at him to leave and he does which is not good for LSU. This has to become a destination school and to get there, you have to nip stuff like that in the bud.

Screw UT!

Back up the Brinks truck to Jimbo or Hermans house and make them say yes.
Get into a bidding war, make them think about if before then turn you down.

UT is the competition, make them pay out the arse.

It's not fricking hard to understand. Good coaches win and it takes a lot of money to get a good coach.
