Don't Shoot Messenger.....but at least discuss and make a phone call

Chip Kelly. He's 1-9 after getting Cannes last year by Philly. May be obvious dealing with NFL players ain't his bag. Supposedly he hated recruiting at Oregon (and got in trouble or it)
So.......for $2.5 million would he take an "assistant head coach/OC" position and be willing to use his talent to craft an offense based on the Tigers current players and recruiting base?
Is it worth taking 20 minutes to talk about and then make a phone call on o gauge interest?

Agree he is a control freak....but there are also parts of the job he can stand and gets overtly agitated about.
Doubt he'd spend the rest of his career doing it, but $2.5 million would be a solid pay to have total control over an offense and rehab his image....

He's making six fricking million dollars right now. I'm sure he'd love to be OC for 3.5 mil/year less under a previously failed HC/d line coach.

You don't understand what don't shoot the messenger means do you. When someone gives you a message to tell the people and it's bad news you preface it by saying "don't shoot the messenger." When the message is your own dumb idea you say "I'm a fricking retard and I thought of this!"

Maybe....maybe not. Could have been a convo I had with a gump watching. Miami beat them.
If San Fran fires him, sure he gets part of the $6 mill. Maybe even $6 mil minUs what he makes. So $2.5 million ain't out is the question if he gets $6 either way
