Well Aranda’s wife didn’t want to leave, citing how happy the family was to be there, so that’s one thing. Baton Rouge is fine. Depends on where you live.

No. People in these tax brackets live a far different life than the rest of us and it's not even close. They are very insulated from the dregs of society, and they will for sure be living a life far away from the element that makes BR a shithole.

i think it's been the sticking point with several candidates over the last two searches.

after being away from louisiana for a long time, when i visit, it's like going to a red neck/ghetto third world country. nothin but a big shithole.

Mel Tucker is also a mediocre coach at best.

Y'all act like it's a requirement to go to the shitty places in BR. You think head coaches hang out in North BR? You can have a good white picket life with coach money over there. I mean LA may have more homeless people that BR has citizens.

Have you spent significant time in College Station? Please compare the demographics, crime, education, infrastructure, politics, etc.

LSU has won 3 national titles in 18 years and played for a fourth. It is a top tier job by every metric. Additionally, most urban areas in this country have a crime problem and a blight problem in certain areas. From an outsider's perspective, the expectations of LSU's fanbase combined with playing a brutal conference schedule every year is more of a turn off than Baton Rouge, a place I've been to and have no complaints about.

Yeah but nice areas in SoCal are MUCH nicer than nice areas of BR. Plus much better climate

Only if it continues to be talked about and over emphasized. Every big city has problems. Even cities who have other SEC teams.

Although, LA isn't Shangri-la either.
