Does anyone seriously want Saban at Texas? (Besides Texas)

Of course, the meltdown on the SEC rant would be great. Great is really an understatement, but me brain can't don't function with all these finals.

But would anyone really want Saban at Texas. Texas is arguably the biggest talent pool in the country. Not only that, but it is painfully obvious he still has good connections in Louisiana, which has been throwing out some great recruits lately too.

Texas and Saban could possibly be a Titan no man could defeat.
Would much rather him stay at Alabama and guaranteed to drop 1 game every year.

Having him out of the conference will be good.

Yes, stop thinking into it so much. All the talent in the world doesn't matter because we wouldn't have to play him every year.

Texas's talent is overrated if you ask me, but you are right. He could create something big there but I think him playing average teams week in and week out wouldn't prepare his teams well enough to face another top team after a month of bowl prep. Would be easier to get to the National Championship but harder to win it.

Kind of depends on who bama gets and what the next few years would look like for them . Don't expect a big drop off. With a good hire they could still be a force plus Saban to our west.

It would be good for SEC play, it would not be good for anyone else wanting to win a NC.
Saban has won 3 of the past 5 NC's, all while competing in the best conference on earth, the SEC.

Putting him at Texas in the Big 12, and he will be in the NCG every year.

He will drop one game at Texas each year too.

I am not worried because we go from having to play him each year to maybe having to play him each year.

Hmmm, let me think about that.

Current situation: We compete with Saban at Bama within the SEC every year, and while we do a pretty damn good job compared to everyone else, for the most part he still has a better program, out recruits us, and will probably win more crystal balls going forward than we will. Gump fans continue to be gump fans and we continue to have to deal with that shite every year.

Or Saban goes to Texas: Saban builds a powerhouse at Texas within a few years, is in the playoffs pretty much every year because of lolbig12. We will compete pretty damn well compared to just about everyone else in country, but for the most part he will still have a better program, out recruit us, and will probably win more crystal balls going forward than we will. BUTTT we get to watch the gump meltdown when Saban leaves for Texas, we get to watch Bama learn just how little Kirby Smart had to do with Alabama's defense being dominant, or watch them hire Dabo Sweeney. We get to watch Saban execute the same recruiting tactics in Alabama that he does currently in Louisiana because he knows the state inside and out. We get to watch Bama compete for a few years with Saban's talent, but ultimately wear down with a coach who will finally make us appreciate Les Miles. And we get to beat Bama more often and win more SEC titles, all at the expense of Alabama fans.

I don't know, you tell me if Saban going to Texas would be so bad?

If Texas wins the Big 12 then they'll take up one of the four playoff spots and the SEC can take two of the others. No changes for the SEC other than Bama getting knocked down a bit.

I don't think people are really understanding the impact of what could possibly happen.
They are to busy wanting instant gratification to see the future danger.

I don't mind Saban being in the game every year.

I do mind Alabama being in the game every year.

If they got to overtime against Auburn, he would have been in 4 of 5 at Bama. Id rather have an easier shot at the SEC title and hopefully try to beat him in the playoffs.

Would simultaneously take down Bama and A&M with the swipe of a pen. And he would get his pick in basically any SEC state with the network he's established in the SE US.

The teams he would put together would be unbeatable for Big-12 teams. That physicality is unparalleled in that conference.

That said, it would hurt A&M and Bama much worse than it would LSU, and it would put LSU in a position to dominate the SEC West for quite some time.

So, I'm quite open to the change.

We are pretty much in the same boat either way. But if Saban goes to Texas at least we go to watch the Bama meltdown and subsequent tDecline.
