I talked to some Florida guys this week. Most of the conversation was about LSU pulling Kelly from ND. When we pivoted to Napier, they were like yeah I guess we’ll see if it works out.

I’m so glad LSU didn’t make a "we’ll See. I hope. cross your fingers" hire.

I hope he does well. It was his time to try. It’s clear our guy had a certain profile and young trendy wasn’t part of the profile

Napier wanted the LSU job and media were willing to prop him up because they’d lost their in with O.

I don't think so. Florida was in alignment for Napier.

Nobody else was interested in Napier, and that was the only guy they wanted. It worked out greatly for both. There is no timeline issue, he was always gonna end up there.

That's actually a lie, but yeah, we're certainly glad he's here.

Like the sources that said within a week Riley to LSU. Bech started a shite storm
on social media by following Kelly to frick with y’all dumbasses.
There are no “sources”.
If the AU AD said it, then fine. It even sounds like he was way down on the list for LSU even if he was on the list. Dumbass kids when will y’all learn.
Napier has a fricking ego the size of Texas and was politicking for a fricking job at LSU while dumbasses on here was saying he was on the list. Dude was so far down the list his name wasn’t even written on the page. You dumb frickers believe this type of bull shite. I pray for our country.

LOL, this guy asks for a link, gets link when he coulda just googled "Napier turns down Auburn" and picked his source from a hundred different search results, then goes "Fake news!...I'll only believe it if the Auburn Athletic Director admits that a coach they were pursuing turned them down!"....Oh boy, what a knucklehead.

Yes. We forced them to hire an unknown quantity at this level. BIG risk for them, but they decided they’d rather risk him failing there instead of succeeding here.

"But Napier seemed to be their only target?"

With all the NFL and College coaches to select from, why would Billy Napier be the only target of the big bad University of Florida of the Southeastern Conference?

Why would they go hard and exclusively for the HC of a small regional State University when there are so many more coaching options out there?

Anybody with a fully functioning brain knows the answer to that.....

Then why in the World did LSU hired Orgeron if there were better coaches out there?

That was on LSU for not getting that done before hiring a HC!
Don't you remember Arkansas hired Morris when they didn't have an official AD in place? That is what I am talking about. You don't go out and let the AD make the hired without getting the approval by boosters and others. That is what I mean. If he still wanted Orgeron then you should have fired him and hired an AD back then and let the new AD do the hiring of the HC. That would have been the right way to do it. It didn't go that way but we shall see if Kelly will get LSU another championship. This doesn't mean Kelly will get LSU a championship. SEC have been a lot better now than back in 2019. So too many good coaches for LSU to be the favorites to win it all any time soon.

It’s who Florida wanted.

They like to hire the up and comer that could end up being at Florida for a long time.

Sometimes it works.

Sometimes it does not.

Dan Mullen didn't work and didn't want to try again. So going this route was the next step.
